Why isn't there mass changing?

Recommended Posts

Man I'm sorry but I gotta let off some steam. Every site I find that has info. about the Transformers Movie says that there will be no size changing for the Transformers.

What kind of BS is that?

I'm a hardcore Transformers fan and I'm just beyond myself.

I've honest to God have wanted to be a screen writer and work on movies and making a live action Transformers movie was on the top of my list for about 14 years now.

Anyone that works on this movie needs to be a hardcore Transformers fan or at least understand the fans that are.

The point of a live action Transformers movie shouldn't be to actually have it as real as humanly possible. Hello, it's artificial intelligence, they travel throughout the universe, they come from another planet. That stuff can't really happen so why can't they change sizes. Thats stupid to automatically cut out Soundwave as a tape player, and Megatron as a gun. I assume he won't be a gun because they are planning on making a toyline for the movie and there is no way that Hasbro would make a gun again.

I'm sorry guys but I had to vent some fustration here, Please forgive me ;)

:pfx :pfx if your going to make a movie you must be true to the characters as possible and my fellow transfans SIZE CHANGE is a big characteristic. not having soundwave a tapeplayer or megs a gun/ you might as well tank the movie right now !!!!!!! :tdown :tdown :tdown

I'm concerned about this too. Megatron and Soundwave are G1 legends, as are their alternate forms. I can understand the no gun mode thing somewhat, considering toy saftey laws and all, but if soundwave isn't a tape player, then how can the whole cassette thing work? There probally are ways to incorporate him and all of the cassetticons into the movie, but it'd still be better to have size/mass changing. Oh, and what will they do with Prime's cab?! Is it just going to sit in the corner the whole movie?

Nostalgia clouds too many views.

Soundwave being a tape player is silly, to me..just because you grew up on it, it doesn't make it a good idea...Size changing was always the result of poor writing in G1...an inability to come up with a better idea. There is really no logical way to explain something growing 100X it's own size in a live action format, so why even bother with it? It's not about being faithful to G1, or half the characters would be miscolored half the time, the plot continuity would suddenly change at the beginning of each act, and you'd end up with a buncha goofy characters with no personality....

It's good that they're moving on..if anything, you should thank these guys for making G1 actually GOOD...that's to say if they can pull it off.

primes trailer always disappears when he transforms, so taking it out of the scene wouldnt be a problem. now as the megatron thing goes they can easally have a closed box for the toy when it comes out so that it doesnt show it is a gun. he could be transformed in robot mode in the package/ there are ways around it. this whole gun law is a load of crap :tdown :tdown im more than old enough to go buy a REAL GUN if i wanted ....

you dont seem to know much about movies or safety laws, for that matter.

And if you want kids to be able to buy realistic toy guns, go bother Charleton Heston about it, this discussion is tired and useless.
