What's your favorite combiner?

My favorite combiner would have to be G1 Predaking. From name to looks, he was just an imposing figure. Too bad I only had Razorclaw.

 

I have to say, though, that I didn't really like the design treatment that was given to most of the Scramble-type combiners in G1. I mean, Menasor was little more than a big robot with cars parked on his arms and legs, for example. There was very little to suggest that the robots actually connected, and I felt it was like Motormaster just grabbed the other four guys and slapped them on himself as armor.

 

Maybe that's why the other Stunticons hated him so much.

 

As far as toys go, I never got a complete team, but I got a few of the team leaders, and an assortment of limbs, but only enough to make one combined robot. Thank goodness for Scramble City compatibility...!

Menasor is and was my favorite. He was the only one I ever got that I got all the figures at once during G1. I didn't get the gift set, but I bought all of them at the same time on an outing with my father and brother to one of the local toy stores, and because of that he was always special. Of course he isn't the most impressive toy-wise, and I ended up with every other G1 except Superion, Predaking and Monstructor, but he was always my favorite. I have always loved all of the cars and definitely Motormaster---I loved him as a truck and he was a great character, too. Man I'd like them to revisit the Stunticons in Universe!

Tough question, so many cool non-Transformers combiners out there. As far as Transformers are concerned, I think Tripledacus is pretty cool and unique. And so is Magnaboss. I like Railracer too. Galaxy Convoy combined with either Sonic Bomber or Ligerjack. Armada Prime + Jetfire + Overload (I use the Takara version of Jetfire and Energon Magnus) is pretty badass too. I like the drill hand on Energon Prime. Too many to list, I love combiners.

Ok so, now that we have this complete section dedicated to combiners, let's use it!

In this thread, name your favorite combiner figure(s) and why you like them. They can be from anything relating Transformers, even knock-offs.

 

I'll start things off here. Honestly, I think my favorite combiner has to be the Energon Bruticus Maximus set because not only did it turn into a cool gestalt, but all the robot components were solid figures as well.

Right now it´s gotta be my Bruticus Maximus with FP upgrades, if that counts. Otherwise it´s G1 Bruticus. Never owned all of Predaking so can´t say him. I´ll let you know if my mind changes when I get "Predabling" in November

G1 Monstructor as a concept (Kills everything he touches, those who witness his transformation go insane O_O).

 

No one from a toy stand point. Sure G1ers are nostalgic but they are hardly perfection. The A/E/C combiners definitely aren't either. ROTF Devastator makes me want to puke. As far as I'm concerned there is no toy of a combiner that impresses on all fronts be it deco, articulation, etc.

My Favorite one of all time is always going to be Devastator. 6 robots that were all the same size that combined was just pure genius. Also he is the original combiner and just overall badass character. Also, I got the gift set in Jr. High for being on the honor roll and he was my first ever transformer / decepticon / combiner. - I usually don't include him because it's just a given. Probably helps that there are so many Awesome Custom Devastators that have been made recently that are just totally insane with awesomeness.

How could anyone not like a group of Decepticon cars after all the planes?

Cool black Semi with a transformation that hasn't been reused. 4 High perfomance sports cars that include an Indy car, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and a Porsche. That's an auto enthusiast's dream!

 

Bruticus - G1

What kid didn't like tanks helicopters and space shuttles. What a badass name of Bruticus. Also the episode where SS builds them was really cool. He is just a badass looking combiner overall and tough.

 

did't ever realize my top 3 combiners are all Decepticons.

 

Superion - G1

 

5 awesome planes that combine into a kick ass Robot? What kid didn't like that? ALso it was finally cool to see the Autobots finally get some Airplanes. Kinda of the reverse of the Stunticons. Growing up I always was facinated with the Concord so this set was just so cool because no other toys made a Concord. Too bad they retired that type of travel.

 

Defensor - G1

 

Cool that they made a whole team of Rescue style figures. The fact that each one is a different type of Rescue vehicle was cool, oh had Defensor was cool too.

 

Predaking - One of my favorite HUGE bulky looking combiners. I liked the fact that the individual figures were good on their own and just much larger than all the other combiners at the time. Also Prediking by far is one of the Coolest headsculpts, the fists with the claws on them, the huge feet guns, Huge wing span combined and the color scheme was just so cool. Probably also I knew as a kid I would never own him no matter what I did because my parents wouldn't spend that much on a toy.

 

Honorable mention

 

Computron - G1 Liked the figures and combiner, but just never really understood his point. I always joke that he should have combined to form a huge calculator or Abacus.

 

Energon Bruticus / Superion - only because of the new appendage sets. On their own they are both weak, but FansProject has made them strong. :lol

 

Constructicon Devastator - Micro Combiner - only because I just got him and for all you get it's pretty damn impressive IMHO

Sixliner - Micro Combiner - just got him and it's pretty cool to have 6 trains combine. Impressive.

Well I'd have to buy a set of toys that'll cost me $50. A set of toys thats crap out of the box so I have to spend $80 for parts to make it awesome. I just cant do it right now.

A thought occurs. Why hasnt anyone (Hasbro or Fan made creations) come up with a combiner composed of Seekers? Everyone has always wanted a proper Dinobot one, why not Starscream and his posse? Give Superion a run for his money.
