Next Transformers Cartoon Series Ideas

Okay. Transformers... has always had some focus on humans. On occasion in unnecessary ways. The human stuff in seasons 1 & 2 of Animated is fairly well done and realistic. It works for the type of show that Animated IS. For the G1 hardliners... OPEN YOUR EYES! G1 was one of the WORST OFFENDERS, if not THE WORST OFFENDER on the human involvement score! And it had episodes like "B.O.T." in it, G1 Megatron's plans are mostly stupid as hell, most episodes have REALLY long screw-up lists, et cetera. You can forgive IT the stupidity and goofiness, but not the other shows? Animated spent several episodes on things like character development, too, which is always nice to see. Cybertron was a good show, I think. Don't forget that the basic premise of the brand, especially the cartoons and movies, is these alien robots ending up ON Earth, whether by accident, design, or both. There is one thing I WOULD rather see buried forever: Kiss Players. I, personally, will be glad so long as that NEVER gets a TV show ANYWHERE. For the person who suggested SciFi Channel buy the rights, I'll tell you that would result in the worst yet. Because it would be handed over to the people who make those Primus-awful SciFi Channel Original Movies. And for those who want to see a super dark and edgy Transformers TV show:

1. Transformers exists to sell toys. Kids toys mostly, really.

2. There are puritanical FCC guidelines largely preventing super dark kids shows.

3. People such as Rupert Murdoch, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, and John Roberts keep these alive.

4. Making this dream come true would require those bastards to drop dead

5. So you're SOL for now. Sorry.

wow, you are very angry.

for number one on your list, if you hadn't noticed.. it seems, to me anyways, that hasbro is starting to get more of a feel for their demographic. if the show was written just for kids.. why would there be a ton of G1 references in the episodes? i know that kids certainly wouldn't understand them. why use, for the most part, characters from G1.. prime, bumblebee, ratchet, prowl, ultra magnus, percepter, wheeljack, jazz, arcee, hot rod, omega supreme, megatron, starscream, blitzwing, soundwave, laserbeak, ratbat, thundercracker, skywarp, shockwave, etc.. and those characters aren't just namesakes, they're practically the G1 looking characters using the TFA style..

for number two.. who said anything about a SUPER dark show? i know that star wars clone wars is a kids show, yet there is a ton of death and destruction. there are serious stories being told. there are poisonings, hostage stories.. etc. that sounds pretty dark to me. and it's a hasbro franchise, with a ton of toys to support it.. so why do the star wars fans get a show like that.. yet we are left with transformers battling a super group of human villains? i don't get it. you could say well.. we've gotten the transformers live action movies.. well star wars had theirs too.

like liege said.. in G1 there was character development, but in G1 there were MANY MANY more characters. for the most part.. TFA had at most.. like 10 transformers.. in most episodes it only dealt with a couple characters, which allows for more development. plus, almost every story was centered around sari and her stupid key. i mean.. what's the point.. if one of the autobots die.. just use the damn key. anyways. in the G1 episodes the story would usually center around megatrons plans, sure some were a little out there.. but TFA's stories weren't out there? some guy who can skate really fast? .. come on, you really can't take on that argument. In the G1 stories it usually involved a group of characters from each faction, so you'd get more character insight that way. not to mention i'd rather see that type of story rather than a whole episode devoted to a single character in TFA.

you really think the human involvement in the first to seasons of animated were realistic?? so professor princess with her wand that shot rainbows and her flying pony were realistic? or like i said, that dude that could skate faster than anything was realistic? or meltdown.. he was realistic? the green arrow or whatever.. he was realistic? slow-mo.. she was realistic? come on.. none of them were realistic.. G1 practically never FOCUSED on humans, sure spike and carly had an episode or two that focused on them, but they were few and far between.

sure there were animation errors back then.. but what does that have to do with anything? i'm pretty sure that if the G1 artists had the technology that is available now.. there wouldn't be errors like that.

transformers animated had a chance to be a really great series.. but once sari, who was EXTREMELY ANNOYING, was introduced as a MAIN character, and her key was able to fix practically anything.. the whole series kind of took a wrong turn. they spent so much time focusing on a character or two in one episode, battling human villains, and just having a bunch of throw away episodes that when the series was starting to get good.. it was already practically over. if the series was set up a bit more like G1.. as in the human aspect, transformers animated would have been much better. we wouldn't need to worry about the key, sari wouldn't have annoyed everybody, the autobots would have battled decepticons instead of humans, and the story could have went on a bit longer.

:wtf @ Zeldatheswordsman and :tflaugh at Timothywritchey

Hey Tim, you make a good contradictor. :lol You start off with arguing that hes mad, then go off into an (sorta) angry spew about Animated. :tfhuh

Let me argue this one for you. :P Zelda, when the Sgt. mentioned the darker show, he didnt state it had to sell toys. He just stated that a REALISTIC show would be cool. IT was "I" that mentioned it being on SyFy (i think i was the only one, aploigys if im wrong Sgt.) I even said that the toys probably would nevr get licensed if such a thing were to happen. That it would most likely be a side project for Hasbro & another channel/SyFy. That they would have to have a kids show too to sell toys still, & most likely it would be too hard to get toys done through SyFy. So before you get your pantys in a bunch, re read that. ;)

Not all humans in Transformers are bad. Just look at Circuit Breaker! ;) :D :P <drool> <fap>

Or...Jessie!!!

What do you mean the humans were not reoccurring characters in G1? Spike and Sparkplug were in nearly every episode? Don't even get started on Buster in the comics!

Maybe the next series could channel the Beast Era and cut the humans out of the loop? By and large, they are ALL annoying and superfluous, irregardless of continuity. I can count the number of humans I've actually liked in TFs on 7 fingers:

G.B. Blackrock

Jessie (Jesse?)

Circuit-Breaker

Josh Duhamels' character (Lennox?) in the Bayverse

Tyrese Gibsons' character (Epps?) in the Bayverse

Meltdown (Animated)

Sari (if she is in the background, and not overpowering the scene she's in...which is almost never)

The sad thing is, the humans in the Bayverse actually have a VALID reason for playing a bigger role (and by 'humans', I mean specifically NEST). I'd love to see the TFs a little darker and a LOT more sci-fi. They're ALIENS. Why do we not see nearly enough of them in a cosmic setting?

"Space - - - - the Final Frontier.

These are the voyages of the Autobot Ship, Ark.

Its continuing mission: to explore strange, new worlds, to seek out new mechanical life and new forms of energon, to boldly go where no bot has gone before."

Waaa Waaa wa wa waa wa waaaa waaaa wa wa waa wawa wa waaaaaa ahhhhhhh ahhh ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

PIlot:

Arcee: Captain Prime, we are recieving a message from the planet below.

Prime: On Scree!

(A Green Boobed robot girl appears. Primes eyes but out and a simulated toung hangs out.)

Greeb Boob Bot: Oh captain we need your help! (Transmission cuts out)

Prime: I must... Go.. To... The... Planet... And... Save.... Her....

Rachet: Op... I'm a doctor not a genious.. But even I can see this is a trap.

Perceptor: Logic indicates that the Doctor is right captain.

Rachet: You Green Lubricated Microscope of course I am right!

Best show ever!!!!!!!

The whole premise of Transformers is "Robots in Disguise". Without the humans in it, and it not being on Earth, it kinda defeats the purpose, dont you think?

Humans will always play a part of the series, get over it. :roll

You know what I think would be sweet? A clone wars style G1 Reboot. Hardcore for older fans, with fun for the younger ones. Make it for all ages, computer animated, action packed cartoon with a deep story, and characters everyone all ready knows.

Idea: a series set in Cybertron's past, when transforming was first discovered/invented.

Who says the next series has to be set in the present or the future? Not to mention it would be far enough back to not directly affect anything in the present if they have a continuity issue come up(short of blowing Cybertron to bits). Transformers have been transforming long before they came to earth, and well before the advent of humans in the TF world.
