Next Transformers Cartoon Series Ideas

why not go back to the roots of transformers, maybe show us the start of everything, based on the G1 type story. show us a bit before what happened in the first episode of G1. then when they crash on earth.. give us a storyline. not just a one episode problem/solution/execution of that solution type story. give us some evolution of characters, no annoying* humans. spike & carly never really got in the way, they weren't a part of the main plot of the story (well.. there wasn't a "main plot" of the "story") so.. please.. no more sari's. the show is called Transformers Not Transformer & their annoying human friends.

I can't agree more!

Yes, if I'm watching TRANSFORMERS, I have to say I don't give a crap about some brats birthday party, or an episode that features her eating candy, or her missing her dad.

3 seasons and the only thing that they really covered in full besides that idiot was that the big green one was sad because he couldn't paint!?!

Hell, I'm still pist that they thought a girl on a flying pony was needed to show that the Decepticons where bad, and even worse people sided with that move!!!

I'd seriously like to personally deliver some smacks upside the back of some heads for that one!

So yeah, I'm going with the general consensus, STOP SUGAR COATING TRANSFORMERS!

Did you see season 3 of TFA?

Shockwave sent Ultra Magnus to his deathbed, Sari was hardly in it at all, Bumblebee almost died, Blackarachnia effectively genetically modified wasp into Waspinator so she could see if the technorganic process was reversible, Omega Supreme under Decepticon control and looking for Cybertron, Prowl's backstory was explored, Thesotry of Omega Supreme and Ratchet questioning why the Autobot high command gave him simple brain functions so he would not question the devastation he would cause, Starscream still plotting how to do away with Megatron even though he was still just a head.

Besides, Professor Princess was put in there as a throwaway joke. It's not like she appeared in the show more than twice in it's entire 3 season run.

you seem to be under the impression that nothing happened in the series other than Bulkhead learnt to paint.

Not saying all episodes were good, but all TF series have had that, I'm sure those who watched Animated could tell you a list of episodes that should be watched and those that should just be missed. (the human villain as a main focus of an episode did annoy me but not as much as the human kids in Armada and Energon, at least in Animated the humaans (for the most part) had a personallity.

I just hope whatever the new cartoon is isn't movie based, has a mixture of the 84/85 Autobots/Decepticons for the most part and focusses around the transformers like animated rather than around the humans as the Japanese series seem to have done.

And definitely classic style faces, those IDW Ongoing ones make me want to punch someone.

Yes I did see season 3. It was almost the only good one because the stopped screwing around with all the BS and got to the Transformers.

You could see in season 3 they knew they F'ed up, they wasted all their time in season 1&2 and had to give a real quick wrap up. Thats why they downplayed the humans which were such a good idea to begin with.

It was really one of those shows that stands frameless in time never seems to move and takes you nowhere.

Animated did have it's moments, but for the most part it was :poop

*edit* But i :love Sgt York's idea, a reality like Transformers show would kick all kinds of ass! If they did it right! I wonder if they thought of that yet. I did a few times but never long enough to remember it was such a good idea. :thumb

thanks.

I just think it would MAJORLY change the entire dynamics of interactions between humans and TFers and even Autobots to Decepticons - if you make that 1 change - that the TFers can be much more easily damaged. I mean right now you throw tons and tons of firepower at them and they hardly dent. I say throw out the force-field stuff and make it more to reality. Robotics with consciousness - with slightly advances weaponry - but still 'majorly' susceptible to our human firepower. Suddenly they have a REASON to transform and 'hide among us' - both of them. And you have more true damage and a bigger need for repairs. Maybe an area where you begin to bring in humans also -- helping with damage repairs. I just want more REALITY to it. No one flying around.. no force fields.. no scaning and changing vehicles.. just cars/trucks.. characters getting major damage.. some even dying.. introducing new ones.. heavy emphasis on character developement.. and the gov't always interfering and playing a part (along with Nemesis).

The major problem here - is it wouldn't be targetted towards the younger kids -- this type of scenario is geared more towards teens and adults - ie, the same target as the MOVIE and would thus be best set for prime time instead of where it is now. So as cool of an idea as it would be - it has very little chance of ever happening. Instead, we got what we did from Bay.

Im sure if we get a consensus with about 10 million ppl to sign it, then Hasbro will take it to consideration. :P But this could be a show AS WELL as a cartoon or something (although i doubt Has-tak would put them both on same time it COULD be done) ... something tells me if they did this, they might not do toys. I dunno why, but thats how i feel. I mean that sounds mundane, but it would be SyFy that would do that kinda thing, and then toys might be difficult.

STILL, a GREAT idea! kudo's! Now to get the 10 mil to sign it. :tflaugh (ya right!)

Honestly, with the new movie on the horizon in 2011, and nothing announced yet, can we be certain how the new series would play out? Universe is a possibility, but I've always felt that the classics capitalized on the IDW comics as well as nostalgia (The readily available G1 dvds couldn't hurt either). So really, unless Universe took over as the main line until movie 3 comes out, what could they do with a short window of time?

They could already have the new series in development and just have kept it's development under wraps until time for announcement(it's possible, nobody knew much about Animated aside from Optimus was going to be younger than Ultra Magnus until shortly before BotCon 07). We don't really know, the closest we have is the whole 'Power Core Combiners' things recently and that could turn out to be anything. Remember when Armada was rumored to be everything and anything that it wasn't until it was revealed (turns out, most of those rumors ended up in Universe 1.0 oddly enough)?

I don't see Hasbro starting a show and ending it before the next movie unless it ties in somehow(considering the newer comic art looks pretty similar to the movie designs)unless it's already been in development and we've had nothing to go on. It's just not like Hasbro lately to continue a cartoon series after a movie line. I'm thinking there is a strong possibility of re-runs of shows Hasbro has broadcast rights to running alongside whatever toy line is out until movie 3. They showed re-runs of Cybertron the entire time of Classics 1.0 until the movie started up after all.

I thought transformers 2 was coming out in 2012. Any way, just another Megatron alt. ideas. My link is here

My idea for the next series: Make it what it is, a story about a WAR.

Okay. Transformers... has always had some focus on humans. On occasion in unnecessary ways. The human stuff in seasons 1 & 2 of Animated is fairly well done and realistic. It works for the type of show that Animated IS. For the G1 hardliners... OPEN YOUR EYES! G1 was one of the WORST OFFENDERS, if not THE WORST OFFENDER on the human involvement score! And it had episodes like "B.O.T." in it, G1 Megatron's plans are mostly stupid as hell, most episodes have REALLY long screw-up lists, et cetera. You can forgive IT the stupidity and goofiness, but not the other shows? Animated spent several episodes on things like character development, too, which is always nice to see. Cybertron was a good show, I think. Don't forget that the basic premise of the brand, especially the cartoons and movies, is these alien robots ending up ON Earth, whether by accident, design, or both. There is one thing I WOULD rather see buried forever: Kiss Players. I, personally, will be glad so long as that NEVER gets a TV show ANYWHERE. For the person who suggested SciFi Channel buy the rights, I'll tell you that would result in the worst yet. Because it would be handed over to the people who make those Primus-awful SciFi Channel Original Movies. And for those who want to see a super dark and edgy Transformers TV show:

1. Transformers exists to sell toys. Kids toys mostly, really.

2. There are puritanical FCC guidelines largely preventing super dark kids shows.

3. People such as Rupert Murdoch, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, and John Roberts keep these alive.

4. Making this dream come true would require those bastards to drop dead

5. So you're SOL for now. Sorry.

</rant>

The G1 show was very dated. And it did have humans, however most weren't reoccuring characters.

When animated started I remember every one screaming Lord Chumbly. OK, he whooped the hell out of dam near everyone, the 1 time he showed up.

There were plenty of humans in G1, but outside of the supporting cast, they came and went quick while being part of a story that was centralized on the Transformers.

No human team ups, no corporate drama, no nothing...

G1 also did have a very good amount of character development. It may not seem like it though cause well, there were a lot more characters that needed to be developed then in most other series.

No I know, I know speaking in defense of the origional series is the worste thing anyone can do. And all the haters are gonna start screaming "why cause it's not geewun", so I'm gonna leave with this. Outside of Carlos, Fred, and Bud who where just to stereotypical. I liked the AEC humans. They came in, played their part and left. The only guy who did more was Kicker, but hey, he was on the front lines, he earned it. So nayh :P

I really hated Sari, and the kid from RID, mainly because I hate the style he was drawn in. To Digiman.

Armada Energon Cybertron, the 3 are supose to be a group even though only 2 have anything to do with eachother.

I've often talked about this and hope that the idea catches on. I'd like to see some animated straight to DVD movies to support the brand where the cartoon series seem to constantly fail.

The animated series was well written, I just don't think the design style ever caught on with the younger crowd and these days kids don't seem to have the same desire to keep up with lengthy cartoon series like we did when we were younger.

Movies on the other hand, I think could help capture a whole new crowd. I always thought it would especially benefit a line like Classics/Universe which has no real promotional outlet to speak of save for fan sites. An Alternators DVD series would have been nice for that line as well.

I thought transformers 2 was coming out in 2012. Any way, just another Megatron alt. ideas. My link is here

:wtf WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN???? Are you SERIOUS and didnt know Transformers REVENGE OF THE FALLEN (the NAME! of it) was out???? And now in DVD??? Im begoggled/confuzled with this one. :schin
