I have been thinking about it for a few days and I think I have rounded down what we can expect this new series to be. Hopefully we will know more when hasbro has their conferance on the 5th :D

 

The first is the obvious "and wanted by most" proper classics cartoon series. Which would be a proper rehash of g1 for the current generation. Plus classics "2.0" has had several new figure molds released. Meaning hasbro could easily build a story based around figures that have already been avaliable and even reissue some molds if need be. Not to mention classics would be popular with old fans and new fans wanting to rediscover transformers roots.

 

 

The second is hasbro taking the movie verse and making an animated series based on it that explains character backstorys, and what happens between the movies. I chose this as a possibility just because the simple fact that the movie verse is very popular now and it would be easy for hasbro to get profits off a series.

 

 

The third is transtech...Which was planned to happen after beast machenes. The reason I am considering this series is because hasbro already has several figure prototypes, molds, and even a story developed. Meaning all they really have to do is finalize the story and make a few more inital wave figures.

No Humans, they've already proven that a TF series can be done without them. If they are in the series, please don't let them be central characters.

 

NO ANIMATED, that series sucked and should just be left done.

 

More focus on the Decepticons. I'm tired of everything being told for and from the Autobots point of view. I'm sick of every series having 2 serious guys, then 2 goofy guys all of which are stopped at the end of every episode.

 

-that right there was one of the good parts concerning AEC, there was always a back in forth concerning who had the upper hand.

 

NO ANIMATED, lets keep the story moving people. Don't really care if they guys are sad because they can't paint or weren't invited to a birthday party.

 

I'd like to see something on Cybertron. I see Earth every day, I got it. I wouldn't mind a more serious in depth look at Cybertron, it's political/social structure, customs, and history.

 

Basicly, I'm just hoping for a well rounded serious series. No more goofing off, no more constant quests. Lets get into the power struggles and toll of war on the characters.

 

I'm not expecting it, but if we get another crack pot series, I'll just dismiss it as I have been with recent shows(but still buying the DVDs for some reason though).

 

on a side note, I've been rewatching Energon lately, and it kinda pisses me off. The show was translated and pretty hoaky with all the stupid Japanesse sight gags, but it really did get into alot of what I'm talking about. A little more effort in rewriting the script and it really could have been a teriffic series. Hidden in all the stock footage, and gag shots are some very serious things.

 

Also, every time it's new series time people bring up Transtech, I honestly can't see it happening after all this time unless the well has completely run dry.

They wont give us Classics 1.0 i can pretty much see that. They may give us a TF Universe with new Optimus Prime mold, and new Megatron molds but yes, i could see some existing Universe molds being thrown back in the mix. Probably not many 1.0 molds other then Astrotrain maybe im thinking. This is what i think the next Optimus wil look like (as ive been saying, dreaming, pyschic examining this for awhile) from IDWs drawings EXEPT i think they are drawing the toy OPtimus Prime with gas tank thighs and door windows on back ... this The Prime we've basically seen latelyTHATS what i think we'll see. And this one too, and look at Rodimus, you can TOTALLY see how the new prototype could be this, with his car hood splitting like that,Either that or this :roll dons Prime

 

These are drawings from the upcoming comics. Same artist, but kinda contradictory eh?

Personally i think THISis going to be the next show/comic/toyline!

:tflaugh Yeah hes basically G1 prime but some changes for the better IMO. If this series does end up like this, i think we'll all be in for a ride. A GOOD ride! Well the gundam prime im not to keen on yet. .... maybe thats his battle armor? :shrug

That Prime looks like an updated Classics. I can see Hasbro taking advantage of that reissuing the figure with an armor thrailer of their own.

 

His windshield is kinda split, but I can't see that bothering them.

I think Takara has the abilty now (actually we all know to have a G1 accurate bot mode Megs, turn into something like a tank. But still keep his same look. Soundwave too. Transformers are amazing now. I hope i AM right, but alas, we wont know unless they tell us what they actually are planning.

 

I was actually looking for a better pic of Prime when i found this of ALL the new bots. Pretty cool. At least its a comic if nothing else, & im sure some of these designs will be toys. Im betting that Optimus is the *hinted* Universe leader of 2010. ;) I would PISSED to see classics prime out again. Personally, im not really into him that much.

The arm kibble kills Classics Prime for me, otherwise, he pretty much fits the bill.

 

One thing that bugs me about modern Primes that shouldn't be an issue anymore is no matrix. I can see if it's something revalent to the story where Prime doesn't have one, but if they're doing a in command Optimus, he should have one.

Now I know alot of people keep saying make Megatron a tank, and it is a fitting alt. The idea of a gun is nostalgic and cool when they can get it to work. I'm saying keep him a gun, I don't want a tank, when he can be something like this...

 

 

 

It keeps the same gun shape on a size that is not going to insult the robot. I know as a placement weapon he wouldn't be able to manuver like a tank, but I always thought, Megatron shouldn't and wouldn't want to!

 

I can see something that bad ass now planting himself on the front of a charging line laying down massive amounts of firepower as his armies swarm from behind him and take out whatever survivors are left, then transforming to view the reckage up close.

 

That would be cool!
