I'm a mix of a Fiddler, an Artisan, and a Player. Currently I have Sideswipe and ROC Snake Eyes side by side on my nightstand ready to take on Storm Shadow and Sideways.

I love to get to the transformations "DOWN PAT" without any chance of stressing the plastic and "knowing" my Transformers. I DO collect and have loads that are still sealed. But i look at it as i will one day open them unless their gonna buy me a house. :D

Fiddler. :tymk

I'm a fiddler. What's the fun in collecting these if I'm not? Besides, unpackaged figures use up less space.

Some one asked about my prime figures recently. I counted 30. Most of them MIB. The only ones out of box were ones I had two of. The second bout spacifically to play with. In fact out of my 1,000 plus figure collection most are still MIB. I even have sealed glass display cases for some.

I don't know how many Optimus Primes I have... ummm... lots? :P

Here's a photo I took last year, so no ROTF Primes.

allmy_optimusprime.jpg

P.S.: This isn't including my Optimus Primals, Lio Convoy, Big Convoy etc.; also didn't include God Ginrai cos we all know he's _not_ Optimus Prime! ;)

-God Ginrai. OK, here's my take, it uses a little of all canons.

Prime was restored (return of Optimus Prime) but his body was never quite right. A new body was built off Cybertron but lost in delivery

-thats my own, I dismiss the powermaster origins in Master Force because I just don't like it-

Then Optimus died again before a Spark Transfer could be completed (headmasters/masterforce). Everything that was Prime though was stored in a service bot Ginrai H-IQ (as per the comics with liberties).

That bot was sent to find Prime's new body and used as a Jumpstarter to give it new life. PM Prime was basicly a drone for Optimus.

When developed enogh to reconnect with the Matrix he became complete again. He took the body of Starconvoy in this transitional phase.

With a reasembled spark, he was then able to move on as himself in his Laser Prime body no longer needed the help of power and micromasters to help him function.

Ginrai H-IQ wasn't forgotten as he not PM whoever was recast into Victory Leo(who I only have in RM form which for now oddly works). Since I don't have Machine Wars Prime, Laser Prime is my final evolution of G1 Prime. Optimal Optimus is sorta the next step, but realy he's more Primal then Prime so he's a grey area situation.

RID, AEC, Movie and Animated are related, but different from G1.

If this disputes the shows, and books, well sorry. Again, it's just how it works on my shelves. Think of it as an alternate universe :P

sorry for derailing the thread-

I'm a fiddler more than anything else. I only have about eight figures and they're all out of the boxes. I display them but will mess around with them once in a while.

i'm definitely a fiddler. i only buy what i deem the highest quality toys based on overall design, size, and materials and that includes the box. when it comes to the current crop of transformers, most don't cut it. i mainly only buy takara masterpiece but only if they get it right. getting it wrong would be their starscream and ultra magnus. i like to visually admire the design and workmanship put into the toy. i transform them, pose them, display them. but i don't 'play' with them. and that goes for all toys i collect, not just tf.

A true Curiator.... and to think about it - i was as a kid as well. I tore all my clothes out of the closet - installed shelves - put a pad lock on the closet (due to younger brother) and basically DISPLAYED my TFers. Granted, I had a bit of a 'fiddler' in me as a kid - but likley only about 20% of the time at most. Now, i'm pretty much 100% curiator. I see TFers as sculptures, engineered works of art. I enjoy them displayed - often purchasing 2 when needed (like MP Grimlock), just so I can put them in both modes and enjoy them both. I get great pleasure from just walking by them - finding myself stopping, admiring them, smiling then going about my business. Definately the 'out of box' curiator.

I am artisan. Maybe that was...
