I don't hate ROTF I just hate Bay's blinding arrogance and stubbornness.

I couldn't agree with this more! And if I have to hear Megan Fox bad mouth him in an interview again...

Hmmm... this makes for an interesting paradox... because while I myself don't actually hate any singular element of Revenge of Fallen, (I actually felt entertained even when I saw it a second time) BUT that entertainment was dwarfed next to how much I despise the way many of those elements are utilized.

In other words I too despise Michael Bay's "Blinding Ignorance and Stubborness" more than I despise the film but...

.. the movie is one of the most glaring examples of that "Blinding Ignorance and Stubborness"; it is the most "BAY" of all the Bay movies I've seen, featuring all of Michael Bay's greatest film making sins and excesses MAGNIFIED.

And also... like... I don't hate "The Fallen", but I really hate how he was used in the movie.

I Love Movie-Style Megatron, but I hate that he was so underwhelming in the film.

I have no problem with the weird lookin' devastator, but I hate how he did nothing terribly interesting beyond combining, and I'm not enthusiastic about the "Infinite Constructicons" but I still hate how little they were featured.

I don't mind that the autobots had to kill some dudes, but I hate that they didn't seem to "care".

And I even liked, possibly even Loved the designs of the weird lookin' Biker-Bot Girls, but I chafe, I writhe, and DESPISE how painfully underutilized they were... along with nearly every other Autobot but Prime and BB and the Twins (Who even started to eclipse BB at one point.) who played second fiddle to Michael Bay's pathetic direction of the human characters. [/rant] (I apologize for the inconvenience)

So... Is that the same as Hating the whole movie? :shrug

I know some people don't like the designs of the bots for whatever reasons, but I honestly don't mind them and find them fascinating and complex. (Minus the twins seriously what the hell was Bay doing when he approved those faces.)ILM did a fantastic job on these bots and I applaud them for it. Although the movie did have its seriously WTF moments, I did enjoy it for what its worth, and thus I do not "hate" it. Though I hate to admit it I have to give Bay some credit he did give us "more bots" but my biggest beef is that he did a half ass job of doing so. Bay its so simple please build personality upon the robots Shia and Fox have had way too much spotlight.

my reasons for hating rotf

1.the twins

2.killing prime off

3.wheelie humping mikaela

4.giving devastator a hook and ball bearings between his legs to insinuate a dick wtf was that about

5.the dialouge for human characters seemed poor

6.too much comedy that's something i thought they'd fix when i saw the first film i was expecting this to be darker

7.the matrix turning to dust and reconstituting back

8.alice let's face it that was the worst part of the whole movie

9.killing characters just introduced

10.ravage spitting up insecticons thhat formed somesort of blade like thing

11.making sam a fugitive just because the fallen appeared on screen demanding sam be brought to him

12.not killing mudflap

13 too much sexual content

14 too much swearing

15.having transformers reproduce through eggs and hatchlings

but there are some positive stuff such as starscream has a more high-pitched voice, megatron returns, the robot's got more screen time and that's it

It might be cliche, but I can honestly say that I hated practically everything about ROTF.I can count on about 3 fingers everything I thought that was good about the movie...but I could honestly sit here all day long and post about everything I HATED about it. And there was a lot to hate.

The intelligence-insulting and crass attempts at humor were only the start. The fact that there was no apparent cohesion or direction in the film was the killer (I've seen better from some Albert Pyun films). The uninteresting and undeveloped human characters tested me to no end, and some of the TF characters actually finally broke me.

ROTF is one of the worst movies in recent big-screen history and deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as shit films like Gigli and Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000.

I mean, come on.

I didn't hate the movie infact I don't think anyone really hated it. But I and millions others were dissapointed in it.

Why? Bad writing, bad acting, needless sex humor that distracted from the movie. And it was a movie about humans who had to deal with giant robots not a movie about "Transformers" learning to live with and defend the humans, like it should have been.

I'm quoting this because it very much in line with what I wrote elsewhere:

"sorry Bay you wore me thin with poor "Madlib" dialogue, the 2 Frakked up robots, no character development with cooler new bots, enough comedy relief to make a reviewer confused as to what type of genera you were going for, no real direction for actors, Shai Lebuf forced to carry the entire film on his back and broken hand/arm, more holes in your plot lines than swiss cheese, oh and a robot humping Megan Foxes leg! WHAT THE FRAK!!!!! and finally after watching all of season 1 of Fringe and the new season 2, it has become more than obvious that Orci and Kurtzman had very little real creative and writing input in the film...in short very good writers put to very little use. So yes it is really time for a new director"

Here is another comment I posted about what caused the bad writing in TF2:

"Writers: "Ok, so these bikes are going to have a cool scene where they all combine together and...."

M Bay: "NO! scrap that, forget the bikes! That takes away valuable screen time from Skids and Mudflap...have those guys do more funny stuff!!!"

Writers: "Awwwwhhhh no...Not again with the crap bots, we didn't even mean for these guys to be in the film, it was a joke sketch..."

Hasbro: "So we started on the toys and now there will not be a combine mode scene for the bikes?!?!?!

M Bay: "Oh and Wheely has to hump Foxes leg, yeah that will be so cool! And Devistator will be like a dog with BIG dog balls yeah yeah"

Writers: "We can't wait till September 15th. Second season of Fringe will redeem us, everyone will see how awesome Fringe is"

Hasbro: "Ahhhhh guys??? Does Arcee combine or not? Ahhhh little help here???"

M Bay: "and there will be this black guy with one gold tooth who looks like Skids and he'll be dumb like Skids too, yeah that will be awesome!"

Hasbro: "Guys? Hello?...Awh forget it will make up our own..."

Writers: "People will see Fringe, and Fringe will be amazing, and everyone will forget about Transformers 2. Yeah, everything is going to be OK!"

As I said before; the season 2 premiere of Fringe really shows us what these guys can do as writers...after losing everyone in Star Trek, and filling endless plot holes made by Michael Bay in ROTF, Fringe really makes up for all of that. This show is truly their baby. The Show is that good.

When you think about this, using Fringe as the example, it kinda pisses a fan off when you realize that Transformers could have been that cool. Hell I did not like the new Star Trek because of the poorly done continuity changes that killed character development but at least it was still cohesive and you can tell the writers were allowed to put a lot of their input in the film...their talent was used to fit JJ Abrams new vision. So side by side Star Trek was a much better story than ROTF. But it does go to show that when you compare the two films, and you are familiar with Orci and Kurtzmans writing and production styles, they were treated a hell of a lot better in Star Trek as oppose to ROTF.

I would like to be excited about Transformers 3 but there needs to be a different director...give me Tony Scott (top notch action director with killer editing skills and strong attention to detail) Speilburg (why did he not do this in the first place?) Peter Burg (he did a great Sci Fi action drama, his action movies are good, plus he's not as expensive as Bay) Peter Jackson (do I really need to explain why he should have been the first choice in Transformers 1?) And if we were going to go for complete reboot then JJ Abrams or Ronald D Moore (I'm leaning towards Moore, but JJ would still be a nice change). And all of these directors would have been more professional enough to give their writer(s) the respect they needed.

I don't know...would a petition to Paramount studios work for the fans to get rid of Bay and do the final Transformers movie with a real bang? Would that work. Unfortunately there are still fans here who are forgiving and over look the fact that after the first 30mins of the movie, it was all down hill from there. I know no one likes a good movie reviewer but face it, reviewers are right, Roger Ebert was right; ROTF was a horrible movie.

that after the first 30mins of the movie, it was all down hill from there.

I agree. It some some ups but mostly downs throughout the rest of the movie.
