New Peaugh Video Review: ROTF Human Alliance Sideswipe

He's most likely talking about a licensed Audi alt mode.

You don't need a license to show a vehicle in a movie (really, can you imagine how expensive it would be to make a movie if you had to get permission and pay a fee for every car that appeared onscreen?) You do, however, need a license to produce a toy version of a particular vehicle. Bay could've shown Sideways' vehicle mode all he wanted without a problem, but Hasbro cannot legally make an accurate toy of the character without Audi's permission.

:tfhuh I know that. Why single me out? :P

It's about money guys! See Audi is product placement and Audi is paying for that spot. Sure The directors could do what ever they want but if Audi chipped in on the cost of the film to show off their new car then yes in that contract they are going to have their say on how said car is going to be represented...hence in this case, a barely visible Sideways bot mode... again this is a possible explanation of why we didn't see a proper sideways, an explanation that only works if in fact Audi was a sponsor in the film.

hasbrotoyshop does indeed have HA BB in stock, as does TRU... for anyone on the fence about BB, he is so amazing in person, I was shocked. My local TRU (Orange, CT) has quite a few on the shelf, as well. man, I would love to get my hands on Sideswipe, all you lucky ducks that have him already!

the torso is paper thin and hollow... just like HA BB... pass :bored

Excellent! Buy the crap and leave the better toys for us! :)

Myself, I find DLX Sideswipe a bit boring, hard to pose and just as kibbly. HA version is much more interesting.

Sorry, made a mistake trimming the quotes. I meant to reply to

I am still wondering how Bay got away with Sideways transforming even for a split second...

We already know that... My question comes from the fact that he did transform in the movie... German car companies have already made it clear they dont want to be associated with war machines...

Which is funny since most of the big ones originated during wartime. BMW was originally created to manufacture military vehicles while VW was created during the reign of the Nazi regime. :tflaugh
