overall, I realy like him, size wise though he falls short compaired to past Voyagers and Megas

He's arriving sometime next week along with Soundwave! I'll let you know then.

At first I was going to pass because I have leader Megs, but after seeing the film I think I'll pick him up...

Do yourself a favor: pick him up. When I first got him, I HATED him. With a passion, and I really don't know why, because for the past couple of weeks, he's been as much fun as--or more--than any other ROTF figure, and that includes '09 Leader Prime and HA 'Bee. I've done a complete about-face. The hype regarding this toy is not hype. It's real. He's a legitimate triple changer, to boot. All Crabitron needs is a leader figure USING THIS SAME EXACT MOLD, and he'd be perfect, right there at the top of the mountain with regards to the Bayverse toyline.

  • 2 weeks later...

You hated him at first, you say?

...Well, I just got him, and I hate him too. I hate every one of his stinky limbs. His neck is lanky and he either has to hunch over or he can't look around. His arms are, as everyone puts it, crab-tacular. I didn't think it looked so bad in pics... His leg style prevents you from getting many positions out of them. He has virutally no paint apps at all, he's all green plastic. And worst of all: The back kibble. :damnit I can't find a way to get the stuff to stay up and out of the way!

His tank mode, I don't like. But it's okay. The jet mode, though, is pure awesome. But I get my figures for the robot mode unless the alt is super detailed like an Alt/Bt. I'm tempted to take this one back. Think you can you talk me out of it?

The tank mode is as movie accurate as it can get. It's that dead on perfect. It's exactly how the actual movie Megatron's tank mode looks. The back "kibble" can be arranged to look like functional wings, and fold up nicely to get out of the way. You can keep the back pod in place pretty easily by locking the cow catchers around the little folding end piece. It's far more articulated than Leader class Megatron, and, if you don't like the green-grey color scheme silver paint dry-brushed over it, really brings out the detail, and adds even more to the movie accuracy. Simply put, the Voyager class toy is the most movie accurate version of movie Megatron there is in toy form. If that isn't a reason to keep him, I don't know what is.

I love my Crabitron with the exception of his lateral shoulder joints. They're loose enough so they don't stay still when posing his arms but not so loose that the cant stay in place while standing,

You're not alone. I can't say I absolutely "hate" it, but I don't really understand all the love that goes into this figure. The things I like are the head mold; Extremely detailed, and looks a lot like some sort of evil samurai. Very nice looking face. And although I don't like his overall color, his chest is nicely detailed and molded. I also like his right arm a lot.

However, I really don't like his legs too much...they're just ugly, and I hate the way they "chicken bend" for him to properly stand. I also don't like his gimpy missile-launching left arm, and I hate the backpack kibble. No matter how you try to hide it, or how you try to make it look like "wings" you really can't do anything to make it not look like he has half a tank hanging off of his back....

It doesnt look like a tank on his back to me. It just looks like menacing robot parts coming out to grab you IMO. And the gimp arm on Crabitron is much better in comparison to Leader Megs.

Let me start by saying that I don't hate this figure as much as I did last night. I was tired and was likely comparing him to HA BB, which isn't fair. I'm still not in love with this, though, and I'm kind of in the middle.

Tramp: The back "kibble" can be arranged to look like functional wings, and fold up nicely to get out of the way.

This has got to be an exaggeration. You can lay them out so they kind of resemble wings, but you sure as hell can't "fold them up nicely." I doubt my figure is defective.

if you don't like the green-grey color scheme silver paint dry-brushed over it, really brings out the detail, and adds even more to the movie accuracy.

Here's the thing: I shouldn't have to paint it. It should be painted before they sell me the dang thing. On a related note, if I take this back I may get another version of the figure down the line. A silver repaint seems inevitable.

Simply put, the Voyager class toy is the most movie accurate version of movie Megatron there is in toy form. If that isn't a reason to keep him, I don't know what is.

I don't get my figures just because they are in the movie. I get them because of playability.

Datastream: I love my Crabitron with the exception of his lateral shoulder joints. They're loose enough so they don't stay still when posing his arms but not so loose that the cant stay in place while standing,

Looks like all you need is a screw driver. Whatcha waitin' for? :D

I agree with everything you just said.

Breaker: And the gimp arm on Crabitron is much better in comparison to Leader Megs.

See, now, here's a problem. Everyone is comparing him to Leader Megs instead of Transformers in general. I don't have Leader Megs, and I don't want him. But you might as well be saying "Well, he's better than Blot..."
