I saw an interview with Michael Bay in which he said that he didn't think that Frank Welker's Voice was appropriate for HIS Megatron. (as if the entire Transformers franchise belongs to him... :/ )

no, it was more appropriate to let the SAME VOICE do Soundwave as well -- and destroy the fact that the most notable aspect of soundwave WAS his voice! Bay's a genious on issues of TFers. /end sarcasm

:lol Was that actually Frank doing the SW voice? Didn't sound like him at all...

"I'll get you, Gadget!" :lol

Like a few others have said, a actually agree with Bay, Welker's raspy voice for Megatron doesn't really fit movieverse Megs. That's what I think, anyway.

Yeah. Frank Welker did the voice of Dr. Claw. For G1 Soundwave, he does Dr. Claw's voice, and then it's modulated.

Anyhow, I have no complaints of Hugo Weaving doing the voice of Megatron.

They have Frank voice Megatron in the games and the voice never sounds right coming out of the character model. Movie Megatron just needs a deeper voice then G1 Megatron.

I can understand that Frank Welker's original voice for Megatron might not work so well on the big screen, but this is Frank Welker. I cannot emphasize that enough. He is Frank Welker. The idea that Frank Welker couldn't produce a voice suitable for move Megatron is absolutely ludicrous.
