Bay Is NOT Quitting Transformers - Check 1st post for more!

Recommended Posts

Michael Bay is quitting the Transformers franchise and the action genre in general. He is determined to move away from this area because he is sick of receiving negative reviews from critics who dislike his movie-making style. "It's easy to go shoot an art movie in a winery in the South of France," Mr. Bay says. "But people have no idea how hard it is to create something like Transformers. They (the critics) review me before they've even seen the movie." Read more.

I thought he was contracted to do 3 installments of Transformers. But just like the Federal Govn't maybe contracts aren't worth the paper you we wipe Our ass with. Personally after watching J.J. Abrams attempt at Star Trek.. I would like to see his interpretation of Transformers to complete the Trilogy.

Wholeheartedly agree, would love to see Abrams take on Transformers.

i've seen enuf bay movies to know not to expect anything plotwise. after a while, it got to a point where i boycotted him. all he's good for is unnecessary action wit little emphasis on story n characterization. if bay leaves tf, n the rite person comes on board for tf3, i'd consider paying to see it. tf2, no chance.

Michael Bay was born to make Transformers movies"

Michael Bay needs to shut up. And put a band aid on that vagina of his.

Why is he complaining so much? Because he isn't being validated artistically? Everything has it's price and a Devastator-sized pile of money I think is a fair trade off for not being accepted by your peers or critics for that matter.

You guys are all dicks seriously. What Micheal Bay did to the Transformers franchise is amazing. You guys need to grow a pair seriously and stop complaining about all the little changes Bay made to all the characters. G1 sucked anyways, the voice acting was bad and the robots all looked the same.

Michael?

Darn you beat me to it...

That's not what everyone is complaining about (unless I'm missing something). Bay is all style and no substance. The first movie had eye candy and lots of HUMAN element, very little TRANSFORMERS element. The first movie wasn't "HUMANS" (with appearances by Transformers), it was "TRANSFORMERS"

Oh, and can we take it a bit easy on the naughty bit metaphors please? :) It's PG13 here, but the imagery is approaching R.

wether it is a stunt or not you still should probaly get upset about it

We should?

Well then.

The simple fact is, Michael Bay makes movies that are the antithesis of what is considered 'good'. The narrative is weak, nonsensical, and littered with plot holes big enough to drive a truck through. The lines are hackneyed, cliched, and delivered with wooden abandon. The humour invariably appeals to the lowest common denominator. Product placement glares unsubtly from all angles. Even the man's supposed oeuvre - the action - is a clumsy mess of shaky camera work and confusing close-ups.

I certainly won't begrudge Bay's success; he's clearly figured out some kind of a formula for creating tremendous amounts of financial success at the box office. To suggest, however, that his films are somehow stunning examples of cinematic excellence - well, that's delusion at is grandest.

i said we should probaly get upset about it don't mean we to i am though but you are mostly correct on what you said
