The Maltese Falcon was made into two crappy movies before the third, and now classic, movie starring Humphrey Bogart.

wether it is a stunt or not you still should probaly get upset about it

We should?

Well then.

The simple fact is, Michael Bay makes movies that are the antithesis of what is considered 'good'. The narrative is weak, nonsensical, and littered with plot holes big enough to drive a truck through. The lines are hackneyed, cliched, and delivered with wooden abandon. The humour invariably appeals to the lowest common denominator. Product placement glares unsubtly from all angles. Even the man's supposed oeuvre - the action - is a clumsy mess of shaky camera work and confusing close-ups.

I certainly won't begrudge Bay's success; he's clearly figured out some kind of a formula for creating tremendous amounts of financial success at the box office. To suggest, however, that his films are somehow stunning examples of cinematic excellence - well, that's delusion at is grandest.

I kind of wish that Michael Bay had directed the G.I. Joe movie as well. Is that weird?

Totally agree with you. As it's been said before, Bay's got a good relationship with the military, meaning his version of G.I. Joe would have been more "traditional" in the sense that the fan backlash wouldn't be as negative.

I agree Gran Torino was an amazing movie, then again how could it not be Eastwood simply defecates awesomeness.

As for Bay, if it is as stated, then I say any director that can't take critics is in the wrong damn line o work.

Yeah, yeah, whatever Mikey....same old song and dance like the last movie..."movies like this are so hard to make" yadda yadda.

We'll see ya in a couple years when you're ready to make #3.

I dunno if he realizes how truly stupid he sounds when he starts calling it quits in the middle of the franchise.

I'd probably go for that! :thumb

Yeah, Bay actually seems like he woulda been a good fit for GI Joe. At least, no worse for it than it looks now..

Let's me just say.... without trying to spoil anything, TF3 is set up to be a direct sequel to TF2. Throw in a new director and how much of the story for TF3 will be effected? Plotkais!! (Correct term?)

"Michael Bay was born to make Transformers movies"

Nope, I wished he did too.

"Michael Bay was born to make Transformers movies"

I've never watched any Bay movie for the story so it's not as if that'd bother me.

Michael Bay is quitting the Transformers franchise and the action genre in general. He is determined to move away from this area because he is sick of receiving negative reviews from critics who dislike his movie-making style. "It's easy to go shoot an art movie in a winery in the South of France," Mr. Bay says. "But people have no idea how hard it is to create something like Transformers. They (the critics) review me before they've even seen the movie." Read more.

I thought he was contracted to do 3 installments of Transformers. But just like the Federal Govn't maybe contracts aren't worth the paper you we wipe Our ass with. Personally after watching J.J. Abrams attempt at Star Trek.. I would like to see his interpretation of Transformers to complete the Trilogy.
