this ain't right! micheal bay film making for the transformers is great! i just don't get it1 what with this critics! probably foolish TF fans! well why don't they make their own movie of transformers if their so GREAT!

i'm a film student that why i know how hard it is even for making an indi movie.

and there are many action film director out there the question is are they willing to make a sequel for the TF movie even if it makes a lot of money?!

come on GEEKs! wake up! if it wasn't for micheal bay transformers would not spread its popularity once again in this Time!

so think TWICE BEFORE you criticize! take that critics!

I'm kinda thinkin' BS as well, BUT...if true...it's time for a J.J. Abrams reboot!

I call shenanigans!

If he was really that thin skinned, he would have walked away from this type of movie making some time ago. I think he's yanking chains(something he's done a lot of over the making of these two films in particular). He made 75 stupid large from the first film and no telling how much from the upcoming film, and he's going to let some slack jaw mouth breathers run him off? Yeah, good joke Mikey!

:agree

:agree

He did the same thing when the initialy announced that the movie wouldn't come out on Blu-Ray

He was back the end of the day...

Then again, I would walk if I got half the guff he did. Then again, show me the money a action movie brings in over some art house crap, and I'm sure I'd recall that famous line from Christene

"Yeah, but :poop wipes off"

Then again, maybe, we are getting new writers it seems. I think after 3 these are still gonna be made right to DVD.

I'm calling shenanigans too - Michael Bay has a PR firm on retainer and a website that he is rather fond of - it is highly unlikely that he would let information of this magnitude go out via WENN. The comment about how "It's easy to go shoot an art movie in a winery in the South of France" and "I need to do something totally divergent, something without any explosions" sound particularly like parody.

I can only assume that this a publicity stunt with built-in plausible deniability, or possibly even a hoax.

i say this to all the @sshole critics and people that said Mr.bay ruined TF but he never ruined TF he made it better because he was the first person to bring TF to live action movies and he made the franchise a whole lot bigger, so all the @sshole critics and @sshole TF fans that hate the way that he directs the TF movies i say this now were gonna have a director that will put no explosions, no good plot lines or anything TF related into the third movie if their will be a third movie i say thank you because we lost a great TF movie director!

Saying it again, because it bears reiterating: Iron Man and The Dark Knight are franchise adaptations blending intelligence, action, tight plotting, and excellent character development. They scored equally well with critics and at the box office, and even garnered Oscar wins. The Nolan Brothers and Jon Favreau have both been singled out for taking what was essentially a fantasy setting with an extended canon, and successfully translating and updating the work for the big screen.

Why is that Michael Bay can't seem to do the same with the Transformers franchise?

I'm just fascinated with how much power he's had.... I thought you had people writing the story, people designing props, sets, costumes, and then the director came to tell the cameras what angles and cuts to use... I don't think Transformers 3 would be that much different in that sense. It would still be written for the "common man", blockbuster material, etc, would just have a different feel. Kinda like how the first Blade looks great, while number two and three look normal, yet they're all watchable, np.

Atleast if Bay quit, we'd get less lame statements. :o

Michael Bay has NORMALLY made the bulk of his money in car commercials NOT in film. Movies were just a fun past time or a "fashion show" of sorts to show off the latest thing he can do. Now transformers had a unique element for Bay...the cars were the stars! So with that in mind, Bay worked w/ the big 3 auto makers and thus came out with a film that he sold the American Auto makers on as a big 2 hour car commercial...which explains the money he made off of the film.

When you get that kind of money rolling into your life, you have the freedom to not care what other people think about your work.

So now think about what happens to Michael Bays career after the collapse of the American Auto industry. His big cash cow is gone people! And more so now he won't be able to afford to make big explosions, high cost special effects...and the most expensive part; no more big robots! American Auto Industry played a huge role in making Transformers happen on the big screen.

Michael Bay is not a pansy...come'on now, this is the guy who does not care about what others think! What we are reading in the article is most likely not coming from him but from the PR firm who handles Michael Bay. All of the comments sound simple and polite.

The job of the PR firm is to take a simple tactless statement like "what!?! Christlar GM and Ford just filed chapter 11??? I'm FRAKED!!!!!" in to a simple "well, I want to try my hand at Focus Films".

I think we will be reading a report that Bay plans to sell Digital Domain, next.

As far as the future of Transformers 3? Ahhhhh while a film company will make anything that the audience will pay for...there is a special consideration for films that are just too damn expensive. Transformers is to much! Transformers needs the support of the American Auto makers. So I have to expect that ROTF will be the last offering of transformers.

The Japanese will take over... They already did with cars... But please dont bring that Kiss concept over to live films... LOL...

Oh god I really hope not.. to both actually. The very LAST thing I need to see is the live action franchise go the way of the 86 film.. or worse yet, A/E/C .. I personally don't think Japan has it in themselves not to do something terribly ghey with Transformers. Looking back, they really don't have a very good track record outside of their toy egineering.. and even that sometimes isn't as good as it could of been.. again, A/E/C.

I say if Bay drops out, Speilberg should take over. He IS the Co-Director, right? It really was his idea to begin with, he just got Bay to do the dirty work for him if I remember correctly.

And remember, a change of directors is a good thing sometimes. Remember how the original Trilogy of Star Wars turned out? Episode 4 was just wacky with weird concepts.. Lucas doing it all.. there would of been no way Lucas could do Empire or Return of the Jedi right.. if you want proof, take a look at the new trilogy. Special Effects are to Lucas what Car chases and Explosions are to Bay.

Who knew a grown man could cry so much. Seriously Bay grow a pair.

You guys are all dicks seriously. What Micheal Bay did to the Transformers franchise is amazing. You guys need to grow a pair seriously and stop complaining about all the little changes Bay made to all the characters. G1 sucked anyways, the voice acting was bad and the robots all looked the same.

Michael?
