Sounds like someone is beginning his campaign to get even more money to direct Transformers 3.

Totally.

For the record, it's not his style of action movie making. It's his artistic sense of character design. Nevermind that the guy's a complete ass, independent of whether or not hardcore fans are.

And just because I enjoy A and I enjoy B doesn't mean I enjoy A and B put together, especially just because other people do. It's that simple.

He knows most of his critics are gonna go watch it anyway so he just wants more money outta them, or to aggravate them even more by pretending to cave to what they want. But if he leaves, good riddance.

i say this to all the @sshole critics and people that said Mr.bay ruined TF but he never ruined TF he made it better because he was the first person to bring TF to live action movies and he made the franchise a whole lot bigger, so all the @sshole critics and @sshole TF fans that hate the way that he directs the TF movies i say this now were gonna have a director that will put no explosions, no good plot lines or anything TF related into the third movie if their will be a third movie i say thank you because we lost a great TF movie director!

You do realize that there are plenty of directors out there that can do good action sequences... Its the thought provoking movies that Bay has problems making... I enjoyed the mindless action but it be a nice change of pace for something with more substance with another director...

do you realize wether bay is being wierd or not right now he probaly said he will not direct another TF movie becaus their are really @sshole TF fans out their and yes i realize that their are plenty of other directors but none of them can direct them like Mr.bay can

(emphasis is mine)

Well, we can agree that Bay brought explosions to the movie...

ya thats what i'm saying we wouldn't want a director that would put a lttle bit or no explosions in the movie

he just can't stop with his misinformation

I'm calling shenanigans too - Michael Bay has a PR firm on retainer and a website that he is rather fond of - it is highly unlikely that he would let information of this magnitude go out via WENN. The comment about how "It's easy to go shoot an art movie in a winery in the South of France" and "I need to do something totally divergent, something without any explosions" sound particularly like parody.

I can only assume that this a publicity stunt with built-in plausible deniability, or possibly even a hoax.

this ain't right! micheal bay film making for the transformers is great! i just don't get it1 what with this critics! probably foolish TF fans! well why don't they make their own movie of transformers if their so GREAT!

i'm a film student that why i know how hard it is even for making an indi movie.

and there are many action film director out there the question is are they willing to make a sequel for the TF movie even if it makes a lot of money?!

come on GEEKs! wake up! if it wasn't for micheal bay transformers would not spread its popularity once again in this Time!

so think TWICE BEFORE you criticize! take that critics!

Saying it again, because it bears reiterating: Iron Man and The Dark Knight are franchise adaptations blending intelligence, action, tight plotting, and excellent character development. They scored equally well with critics and at the box office, and even garnered Oscar wins. The Nolan Brothers and Jon Favreau have both been singled out for taking what was essentially a fantasy setting with an extended canon, and successfully translating and updating the work for the big screen.

Why is that Michael Bay can't seem to do the same with the Transformers franchise?

wether it is a stunt or not you still should probaly get upset about it

Hahaha. They couldn't even make a TF kids' cartoons without putting explosions in it, much less an action movie of any property.

Hehehe, awesome.

I'm kinda thinkin' BS as well, BUT...if true...it's time for a J.J. Abrams reboot!

Even MORE shaky camera work and only ten seconds of focused shots on the Transformers at the end while humans run around the wreckage of Mission City?

With polar bears?

Cloverfield is the only project he's done with the shaky camera work you speak of...and a couple of episodes outta 5 seasons of LOST are the only ones we saw polar bears in...nice try. You haven't seen Star Trek yet, have you? Or how about Fringe? Impressive resume so far.

Regardless, don't worry...Bay's probably not going anywhere. :roll

I think Michael Bay is okay, but there are some things that I don't like him for. Michael Bay is directly responsible for Bumblebee's golden shower and the characters Skids and Mudflap. Based on that, I couldn't care less if he quit as director of any future Transformers movies.

Transformers 3: The Search For More Money :yay

Its just funny. Look at Eastwood, the man has no problem making an artsy film that also brings the house down. Case in point: Gran Torino. An amazing movie. He directed and starred. It never got boring, slight, slight action but more importantly, characters capable of evoking emotion.

I hope Sam and McKaela get squished during the opening sequence of TF3 when it comes out. Bring on the reboot of the reboot.
