Destined for Alt Mode

Recommended Posts

Most of G1 stuff and a lot of my Alternators are in alt mode for conservation of shelf space, and I keep my Galaxy Force Primus in planet mode with Unicron's hand hovering over him like the scene from TFTM '86.

I never thought of doing this! That is too funny!

Alt mode only... Unicron in planet mode suspended from my ceiling! And I will often times transform everyone on display for a month and then switch everyone back to robot mode a month later. Except for MP Megatron... I'm afraid to walk past the thing without having it fall over sometimes. He is better viewed in robot mode! Seriously, for a bot that big, they could have put a bit more thought into the hip assembly on him. I would have preferred the G1 Megs trigger crotch just to add stability! :roll

But if your good and can balance Unicron just right and cradle his arms, he can hold Cybertron(Primus) up to his mouth.

I don't have any pics, but it was funny when I had that display.

Classics Grimlock, he just looks better in alt mode, plus its more G1 accurate, where he spent more time in alt mode than he did in bot:)

Sam.

Animated Blackarachina has Alt mode and Combining mode with Animated Waspinator to form Animated Predaking.

megatron mogabolt stays in head mode most of the time...

Hot Shot just made the list.

Universe Hot Shot is a god aweful figure. I can't believe I like the Playschool Armada version better.

I'm embarassed that I even went out and bought something descended from the Armada line. It almost makes it impossible for me to complain about the figure.

Almost.

I've kinda given up with Movie Barricade. He's staying in his kickass vehicle mode for the rest of '09--and beyond. Universe Wheelie will never be transformed into 'bot mode EVER again. My Seacons stay in their beast modes (which fits in with the Japanese continuity anyway). My Aerialbots STAY in their jet modes. Universe Galvatron would stay in his alt mode...if I could ever summon the strength of will to even bother attempting to transform him. G1 Ultra Magnus will probably never again be transformed into his big, brick-like 'bot mode.

Now, how come these TFs can't be like Universe/Classics Rodimus or Jetfire...where you really can't decide WHICH mode to keep them in, because both modes look fantastic???

I usually keep my Alternators and MP Starscream in alt mode. When people come over and see them, they think that they're just models and are really surprised to see that they're really robots in disguise! People really think they're cool and "grown up" toys.
