Destined for Alt Mode

Recommended Posts

Lets face it, we're in this for the robots, otherwise we'd buy Hot Wheels or something like that.

Still, some figures, for some reasons are getting left in alt mode. Maybe it's cause the bot sucks, maybe cause it's the alt is just awsome.

Example, Cybertron Overdrive stays in alt cause thats an awesome car, but the bot sucks, same for Armada Sideways.

On that same note though, figures like my city bots(outside of Omega and Fort Max) at the moment are in base not bot mode cause I love the interaction that offers with the smaller bots. Dinobots are another type of figure who realy just have no reason to hang around as robots. Motorcyles are in alt if I have a Joe to ride it...

Now this list can go on, but before I start to ramble, I'd just like to know who you leave in Alt Mode and why?

I leave my MP Starscream and Prime, Movie Leader Prime and Alternators Smokescreen and Sideswipe in alt mode on top of one of my bookcases. They look almost like model vehicles and I just love the look of Starscream hovering in the air on the stand it came with. I have since put most of my other TF away in storage in the basement, but when I had them posed I usually left Classics Grimlock in alt mode (I hate his dino head as feet look). Can't think of any other TF i have where i didn't like the bot modes enough to leave them in alt mode.

In my G1 collection at the moment: GNAW!!! That robot mode is fugly as sin :lol

Armada Sideways!

Despite being my favorite of the Armada bunch, Sideways stays in robot mode due to the awesome rider they included with him. That and the lack of elbows and knees in robot mode. :tflaugh

BW TM2 Dragon Megatron

He looks more majestic & 'almighty' on his dragon mode.

Thats how I feel about Beast Machines Ultra Jetstorm, not only in Alt mode, but on a Unicron display stand.

Which reminds me, Energon Black Unicron is in alt while the Armada version is in his awesome bot mode(both are ganging up on Primus).

TF1 Movie Prime, because I feel like it.

90% of my G1 Autobots cause you know "Transform and Roll Out" most are set up around my bases.

Plus until Altinators and Movie, actual product realistic alts haven't been to much of an issue.

Prime was a Freightliner

Ironhide was a Nissan Vanette

Jazz was a Porshe

Bumblebee was a VW Bug

I can go on but the alt back then was faithful to the source. Back in the 80's outside of the high end cars, you'd see these cars on the highway.

Hell my brother had Windcharger!!!

RID and Classics Grimlock.

I like all of my other transformers.

Classics Grimlock...AWESOME Dino mode...one of the worst robot modes ever.

TF1 Leader Prime and Megs....I have the premium versions in bot mode.

TF1 Scorponok...obviously
