First Look at Revenge of the Fallen Leader Class Megatron

Recommended Posts

On further review, I agree that the tank mode does look weird. The treads are too small, and it looks like a scrapheap on treads with a way-too-big gun. I also hope they aren't going to have him rollerblading on those treads a-la Bonecrusher in TF1, it would just be wrong. The gimp arm is totally killing it for me though, that alone may make me pass on this figure. I'd love to see Starscream get the leader treatment, or a really nice Barricade if he's back.

If megs is coming back and being rebuilt from old parts is how it will be done then I imagine that this info puts light on this character listed in the cast on IMDB Steve Tom (Actor) ... McClaren Robotics CEO

Whole lotta suck going on with this one too. At least he's not ensconced in something like ice, or kelp this time around.

At least it looks better than TF1 Megs. <_>

No...no it doesn't... :puke

Maybe he should be...

I think this Bio for Megatron and the fact that Megatron does return confirms my suspicions that the Fallen is infact Megatron...

You're kidding, right? What about the clearly different toys for "The Fallen"?

Anyway...so I guess the presumption is that the tank parts are from Brawl/Devastator-In-Name-Only, and the puny arm looks like it belongs to Bonecrusher...

I agree with davidthecharmruffin. I believe Megatron is The Fallen in the Title of the film, where as the actual toy/character named The Fallen really is Jetfire. the back of his FAB card confirms him as an old/ancient Transformer who sides with the Autobots after falling against the Decepticons ideals: http://www.tf08.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=244

That FAB Jetfire's faceplate looks like it took a few cues from this pic of The Fallen

I think the character of The Fallen will be the main focus of the film, until Megatron Rises from the depths. He will probably be too powerful and the Fallen will side with Prime and the rest of the Autobots and be reborn/rechristened Jetfire in order to stop Megatron and the Decepticons. I think Jetfire will be "Return of the Jedi Darth Vader" and put a stop to the Decepticon mess he helped create. Besides, an Autobot named "The Fallen" wouldn't work. He would have to change his name, to something which sounds less evil. Jetfire is perfect as it harks back to his "Engulfed in Flames" reputation as the Fallen. Just my own 2 cents but I think the "Revenge of the Fallen" title has more than ONE meaning.

Certainly not the strangest theory I've ever heard. I would however expect to see more similarity in Jetfire and Fallen's faces than we've so far seen if this was the case. Also, if the fallen turns good, why did they go out of their way to make his face look like evil incarnate?

The bio confirms what was fairly obvious, Megs stole parts of the others.. However, his alt mode looks way fatter and alot less sleek than the illustration we saw a long time ago :\

I totally agree with the Fallen/Jetfire connection as far as a character, and the reference to megatron as a fallen combatant. "The Fallen" has a cybertron jet alt mode, and the second I saw him I saw resemblance to Jetfire, especially in the face area and overall posture. I imagine that when the TFs crash in egypt as seen in the trailer, they awaken him (where he has been long dormant after either an accident on a recon mission or after a violent falling out with the 'cons), he comes out and kicks everyone's ass because he has no idea who is friend/foe, including the military as seen in the trailer, and then goes into hiding as the SR-71 in a museum until Wheelie finds him as rumored in many spoiler threads. He then sides with the Autobots, becomes Jetfire, combines with Prime, and whips ass on devastator, megs, and such, with some sort of hanging plot line at the end for TF3.

Certainly not the strangest theory I've ever heard. I would however expect to see more similarity in Jetfire and Fallen's faces than we've so far seen if this was the case. Also, if the fallen turns good, why did they go out of their way to make his face look like evil incarnate?

read my edited post above. I think He would look less evil as an Autobot. Look at all the Autobots faces compared to the Decepticons faces. the Decepticons look evil, where as the Autobots don't look as menacing to human eyes. Perhaps when he turns good, he reconfigures his face so as not to look too scary.

At least the paint isn't as WTF as the original Leader Megs.
