Toy Fair 2009 - Live Shots Of Revenge of the Fallen Devastator, Skids & More

Recommended Posts

Hey all, tell me if this makes sense. It says in the press preview that there's "Devastator Showdown# The BIG product of the Revenge of the Fallen line is meant to capture the scale of Devastator." Is it possible this is the non-scaled, 2 foot Electronic Devastator that's being shown and the Supreme class one is a combination of a Voyager Mixer, the Voyager Terex RH400, and deluxe limbs. Those add up to a Supreme sized figure and would price around 100.00. Otherwise, why does it say "# Construction Rampage has three modes: Robot, alt and jack-hammer." Why would a deluxe figure need a random 3rd mode? Why is the Terex RH400 so lacking in detail and articulation for a Voyager? When has HasTak ever taken the easy way out when it comes to play value? Don't they prefer to ruin a figure by cramming in extra functionality instead of making it as simple as possible? I'm not saying a triple changing Devastator is going to look any better than what's on display, but I think play value is job 1 of Hasbro.

I'm saving up and buying that thing for sure!!! whos wit me?

Dev sure RULEZ!!

2 things:

1st---I haven't been following the boards closely on the movie stuff because I don't care for the aesthetic; however, are we positive that every member of the constructicon team has a personality and therefore a robot mode or is it perhaps that one member (I guess Scavenger) is the "brain" and just adds bulk to himself

by adding more vehicles to his original body, thus becoming Devastator.

2nd---It seems to me that there are quite a few people who are being blinded by the :awsum flash.

I will be very selective with my purchases from this movie. . .

THis is most definitely the worse devastator incarnation ever. Seems more inspired by voltron than transformers (look at the wings and colors), except voltron was cool. This thing looks like ass.

The individual bots do look good in vehicle mode, but who knows if they even transform. Either way, this is a warning for hasbro, this hundred dollar toy will not sell.

*Edit* They don't transform??!! Why even call them transformers??

he is HUGE!

Was just wondering if the big Devastator toy on display was / is a mock-up, as they may be working on a proper gestalt? (crosses fingers firmly) This one on display looks a lot smaller than 2 feet tall, so the full-size one would make it possible to include fully transformable limbs.. Just hope someone at Hasbro takes note and fixes this!!

£100 for a proper fully transforming Dev - yes!!

£100 for an over-sized Power Ranger Zord - thanks, but no thanks :(

K, so I did some checking and I am not sure this is the tallest bot if they are measuring it from those two flaps sticking up on top.

If they are, then Fort Max measures 22 inches and is probably the same height sans those two flaps. Either way, IMO this toy is not even remotely as cool as Fort Max. Pass the doobie if you do, because that must be some good dope you are smoking. :D

JMO, but when I look at Devy I see:

It's just that large TFs are notoriously simple. Go Transform your Optimal Optimus, Supreme Cheetor, Cybertron Metroplex, or (if you're lucky enough) Fort Max again and ask yourself if your expectations for this Devastator toy were even a little bit realistic.

:::Looks up from playing with my Omega Prime::: I'm sorry, did you say something?

Sorry, Omega Prime's a smaller size class than those listed. You :fail at countering my point. Thanks for playing. Here's some Rice-A-Roni as a consolation prize.

What time is the Q & A today...and think we'll get any clarity on the 'big guy'? (other than what we already know about both sets)

The more I look at this the more it pisses me off and I'm done joking now. If you want to do something about this then do what I did and ENI if you are reading the forum pass this on as well. I sent an email to hasbro saying that if they don't make a fully transformable version of devastator then I won't see the movie and I won't spend money on the movie line. If we fill their mailbox with emails like this they'll get the point. Not guaranteed they'll do anything, but boycott and I mean a full line boycott, is the only weapon as well. Also send emails to the film's studio and so forth as well. If we overload their mailbox's maybe they'll listen. Does anyone have direct emails for hasbro higher ups? We could email them too.

yea i wouldnt go that far we have to keep in mind that this is a kids toy. i have been buying transformers since the beginning and there have been many a bot that wasn't for me so i just passed, and some i bought took home got it out of the package and hated because it was a victim of robo mode itis( the inflammation of ugly in the robot mode) . we dont need to wage a war against hasbro just maybe start buying customs from wheeljack or frenzy rumble or other bad ass customizers when the money starts flowing to the these independents then we'll see some changes.
