It's sad, because 12 episodes hardly constitutes a season anyway. I was thinking 26 episodes should have been a season, which would mean Animated has currently run only ONE SEASON. There should be much more to come. They're not really thinking all too well if they're talking about cancelling it already. With that said, they're not going to be selling as many bots in blister cards now that Walmart has demolished the $7.77 price point.

I'm just not seeing what went horribly wrong. If it's selling well, which it appears to be, why give it the axe?

Oh wow. This is honestly the first series in a long while that would make me sad it if were canceled. Both the show and the toys are superb (unless you were one of the unlucky people who got poor QC.) I really enjoy the toys for their unique design while also being functional as robots. The show itself is just plain :win .

It's a fun show, but there's nothing concrete about it. They aren't trying to do anything new, just picking fun at whats been done. Hopefuly the next sereis will have some type of edge to it.

Of course the could also end it foe an aftermath series like Beast Machines and cut all ties with those suck ass human characters.

If this is true, my hopes of alot of recent sketches becoming toys is severly deminished.

Now I sit and wait for the inevitable "Is This The End Of Transformers?" blog that someone writes every year. At this point though it's safe to assume that Transformers, GIJoe, Star Wars, Power Rangers, Pokeman, are never gonna go away, just constantly change.

The last time they tried to do a series with "some type of edge to it", we got Beast Machines. Which would not have been all that bad, if the characters hadn't been so similar to the ones in Beast Wars and yet such a radical departure from them at the same time.

I would like to see some kind of Transformers cartoon with a more "serious" approach to the franchise, like we have been getting to one degree or another in the comics...

I'm just not seeing what went horribly wrong. If it's selling well, which it appears to be, why give it the axe?

I'll tell what went wrong. Hasbro is :ghey with ROTF.

Not to mention the economy...

Well, there's two sides to this...on the one hand, I'd say that :animated has turned out to be the most successful Transformers series in a looong time, so to cancel it only after a 3rd season would be a mistake. However, on the other hand, I think a series can go on too long & stagnate...but in saying that, :animated is no where near that point. In fact, I feel like we're really just getting into the 'meat & potatoes' of this series with the closure of season 2!

But then again, Bay didn't involve Hasbro on the character designs last time, so I hope Hasbro's negotiated for a much more involved stake in the designs, like they did with Animated.

Yeah, I don't think this is going to happen. I doubt Hasbro has any complaints about the movie's success or the handling of Hasbro's characters.

Animated scored amongst their core demographics: 6-8yr old boys. Mission accomplished for them

You want something serious for the franchise? The movie is gonna be all you get.

Unless male adults somehow become the core demographics...

...Power Rangers...are never gonna go away, just constantly change.

That may or may not be true. According to sources, Disney is going to halt airing Power Rangers on Disney XD/Jetix, whatever it's called, and only air it on ABC Kids on Saturday mornings. And it's frequently pre-empted for sporting events, and not all the ABC channels in the country air them. We get it here where I live, but where my grandparents live, they don't show it. That kind of thing usually can lean towards a cancellation/killing off. However, in Japan, Super Sentai is already on the show that would air after the upcoming Power Rangers RPM if Disney decides to continue.

Anyways, back to TFs.

I hope the show doesn't go away. I kinda like it. It's a nice fresh version that isn't imported and dubbed with mediocre story telling. I want to see Jetfire/Jetstorm, Waspinator, Red Alert, Wheeljack, Hot Rod and Strika's teams and more both in the show and as toys. I'm sure for the sake of the movie, the toyline may get sidelined a little like Universe is supposed to I hear, but it'll be back...I hope. There's so much potential for them.

I think it's a little too soon to call the "its going to end" flag. Then again, Beast Wars ended kind of abruptly when I still felt that there was stuff they could of worked with.. I mean, Tarantulus himself was like his own little mini series waiting to happen.

I think animated will only come to a close if hasbro has something else in production for the kids cartoon show spectrum. The next series could just as well be an adaptation of animated kind of like Justice League - Justice League unlimited. Can't say the toys aren't selling.. local target still can't keep those damn things on the pegs.. no idea who's buying them though. We do have our morning hotwheels addicts coming in every day to look at SW .. and Hotwheels/Batman.
