I skipped the first Movie Leader Prime due to his general clunkiness, kibble factor, and price point. This edition is looking very svelte and full of win. *waits for full clear properly transformed pics to surface before getting excited*

This one will probably cost the same, but hey, like they say--two out of three ain't bad.

Agreed, Datastreem, please keep track of this.

Oh, and thanks DS.

well, it doesn't look like this new version is as chunky as the first one.. but I dunno.. I'd only get this guy again for Jetfire conversions.. if this version supports that.

Looks good. From the chest pic it looks like a new mold. And new Transformation but from the full pic you can see the legs, feet/grill Transformation seems to still be apparent. I like his wheels a little better (leg wheel placement) but still lack something. Maybe the transfomation is a little off there though.

One awesome thing is how he is MUCH more movie accurate now then before. The head, chest, arms, legs, and stomache area all look improved. Whoever said this looks like a re-tool of Voyager Prime must need glasses, since IMO its obvious this is a leader.

This is a retool so I will still buy it but they should have made this immediately.

It's an entirely new mold, not a retool.

I wouldn't be so sure. Look at the truck mode, his feet look still to transform into his grill, vrs his front wheels still seem to be on his feet, via same transformation. Its possible its a brand new mold, but i HIGHLY believe its an extensive re-tool. Probably a mix of old, with brand new transforming parts or placements. And gimmicks of course.

I'm hoping this mold will indeed combine with Jetfire.

Based on the scale between an SR-71 and a Semi? I doubt it. Likely a LDR class Jetfire combines with a deluxe sized Prime or something to be accurate to any movie combining they might do.

Or perhaps Leader Prime and Supreme Jetfire? It's plausible.

The size difference would still be way off. The SR-71 is over 100 feet long with a wing span almost twice the height of Prime's robot mode - even a LDR Jetfire and DLX Prime is pushing it.

Since when did Hasbro ever care about scale in bot mode? I always see the cars planes & vehicles in scale (more so) then any of the bots. And thats depending on size class too.

Any similarities you see are due to the desire to replicate the on-screen Prime. His front wheel fenders are still on his ankles because that's there they are in the movie. It is a completely new mold. There is no question about that.

No retool in the history of the transformers brand has ever been so extensive as to change the transformation scheme, and you need only give a little study to see how different this mold's transformation is when compared to the previous figure. Notice the bottom half of his smoke stacks attached to the panels sticking up from his back. Notice the red arms that would be incapable of becoming the sleeper cab in truck mode. Notice the roof of the sleeper is one solid piece - it has no seems - and so does not separate to form the shoulder pads as it did on the previous version.

And never in the history of transformers has Hasbro reused minor pieces from mold to mold, no matter the similarities. They always either perform minor retools, or build from scratch.

Oh, for crying out loud...the wager's been made, will nothing appease you people?

Yes people it's a new mold with similarities to the previous, which makes it reinvented NOT retooled.

BB=Retool

Prime=Redone

Maybe you should make a separate thread about the wager?

Feh, picky picky. I'm not shy. Bring the repaint, retool, repro, redo, retard or whatever as long as its Prime :win
