Alternators Tracks remold...

Recommended Posts

Knowing hasbro, this black corvette, with a cat head is likely optimus prime. Because if I've learned anything with this line, it gets progressively worse.

Next up, a toyota tercel that transforms into OMEGA SUPREME!!!!

And next up, you'll make your 8th post and it'll be more irrelevant drivel that has nothing productive to add to the fandom or the toy franchise!

Go Alternators, show the Geewun fans that you aren't gonna listen...

In spite of the all the negative, I really like this figure. I think black looks great on this mold. It being (battle) ravage is a nice surprise -- I don't think anyone saw that coming. With Ravage already a robot in Beastwars and Grimlock a car in Alternators (oh, and of course some construction vehicle in Rid), I don't have any problems with this choice.

I do agree that some animal features (like a claw) would be nice. I also wouldn't mind if they made the head a little sleeker, but it won't be a problem if they don't do that. I had hoped there would be a little more red in it (and the red a darker shade), and that color for the gun will change.

But I really like this one and I might even get another to repaint into Tigertron. Really like it!

Weird, I'm starting to agree with Bodycount. Got into TF because of G-1 (and back because of Beast Wars), but I really have no problem with Ravage (or Grimlock) being a car. I really think you're all overreacting because they made him a car with an animal head. As for continuity, I hope Dreamwave will incorporate these figures in their G-1 comics.

Oh, and finally:

Does this mean that Soundwave will be a semi-trailer that carries his other cassettes (cars) ala Ultra Magnus???

Now, there's an idea. They could release this twice: Soundwave and Ultra Magnus. Great idea. They should do that.

Yeah, because Side Swipe, Silverstreak, Dead End, meister and Grimlock all have license plates that bear (a variation of) their US names, and this one's license plate says "BTLRVG". Sure that means "Boptimuls Privmeg".

Okay, far as the colour scheme goes it aint so bad. As for the head it looks good, if slightly out of place. My only regret is that they didn't make it so the engine was molded into place rather than being a gun this time round and that it had extending claws rather than blasters in the forearms. I think people would have accepted it better this way as it would have made ravage stand out from the crowd as more of a close combat fighter than a bog-standard gun-toting warrior. Personally, I think the best idea would have been an entirely new mold suited for a more bestial transformation, more slouched with animal like joints and claws. (kind of like War Within ravage) This could have then been repainted from black ravage into yellow steeljaw and red razorclaw for example with slight remolds. Makes sense to me, over to you HASTAK.

If this thing really does manifest I can`t wait to see what`s next! :eek

Why do people STILL think it's a fake? There have been three or four independent sources confirming this, two of which had been very reliable sources in the past regarding protos of upcoming releases. You think Hasbro is putting all the effort into remolding Tracks into Ravage, then leaking a test shot, only to have fun with fanboys?

I would hope that this prototype is by long not done yet, I would like to see some more changes in the mold so that the bot mode becomes a jaguar mode. I think it should not be to hard to do. I like the head mold, but not on that body.

If it comes out this way, I really don't want it.

Alternators/Binaltech are aimed at adults, why you ask?

1. They are classic remolds of toys (not characters) from 20 years ago.

2.The price, $20+ bucks is the standard for this line and $50+ for a binaltech version. That’s a lot more than the average price of Energon

3. They are based on real cars, Few kids might be into cars at that age unless they already have a thing for cars, where adults actually drive them, are more knowledgeable about the different brands, and can appreciate the level of detail both inside and out.

If those are not good enough reasons then you won't understand.

As for Ravage boy. I think this is simple Hasbro calling the shots for a bigger piece of the ALT pie. The first 4 were great and were in high demand because they stayed true to the G1 TOYS, After that they got progressively worse....and still are.

Last time I checked my Binaltechs, they were no remolds of those crappy G1 bricks. I highly doubt a single piece of G1 Smokescreen has been reused on BT/Alt Smokescreen, not even in an oversized form.

By the way: Mods, you can mail Ken, he'll provide with you some non-watermarked pics as long as you credit him appropriately. :)

1. I like the Alt Battle Ravage.

2. Alternators is not G1.

3. G1 was by no means the best Transformers series or even the one that 'started it all'.

4. Alternators are not intended to be based on G1, it's a line in it's own right.

5. Hasbro changed Tracks because of plastic quality issues. That's all. Not because the 'fans' demanded it. If Hasbro\Takara only did what the vocal adult part of the TF community wanted, they'd never sell anything. They cater to their biggest sector, the kids, first.

6. Their UK distribution still sucks though.
