The Geewun fabase isn't big enough to support a toyline, which is why Alternators are soon to span out to Energon characters, to draw in the kids.

Kids fund Transformers, not you guys. And if you try to claim Alts are aimed at adults, I'm gonna kick you in the nuts. It's a toy, so it's for kids. The box doesn't say "Adults Only"...so go F*ck yourself, purist.

And why go to all that trouble of making most of the characters so true to the original G1 characters if G1 fans weren't a major consideration?

G1 reissues are shelf warmers because a)Hasbro ruined them by screwing up the size and color of the weapons and b) because they are WAY overpriced.

 

As for the Alternators being shelf warmers, it has nothing to do with the characters not being recognizable to kids. It has *EVERYTHING* to do with there being nothing but Smokescreen and Sideswipe on the shelves for the past year. Everyone who was going to buy Sideswipe and Smokescreen have already done so. Most of the country still doesn't have Silverstreak, Hound, or Dead End on the shelves yet. I finally got my Alternators Hound yesterday after being on pre-order for the past 10 months. Once Hasbro finally gets ample supplies of the newer characters on the shelves they'll sell like crazy.

 

Bringing Energon characters into the line is kind of a strange idea...especially since most of the characters in Energon were G1 characters to begin with. I personally don't have a problem with Energon because they aren't being true to "GeeWun". On the contrary, lots of the Energon characters are very true to the originals. I just think they look like cheap Fischer Price crap.

 

The box labels have ages 5 and up for safety reasons. They're required by law to set age limits due to choking hazards, etc. The labels mean nothing as far as the demographics they're aimed at.

Do you have numbers backing up Energon is the best line to date? Who do you think gets the money toget these kids the toys? The adults who grew up with G1 to begin with. I don't know alot of 8-11 year olds with jobs. Why are you still allowed to post.? You always do the same thing. You "insult" the G1 Fanbase and then complain how many "idots" there are in this Fandom, but yet you never leave. On top of that, your "insults" are usually incredibly, I don't know...contrived. Amazing. And here I thought no Alternator could cause more outcry than yellow Tracks (previously, the medal went to Dead End/Sunstreaker).
