After seeing the original movie, the biggest announcement to me was "the Return of Optimus prime" near the end of season three. That made my world a much better place as a kid!

That a live action TF movie was in the works.

Yes, that was big news all the way.

Recently I must say that it's that universe Dinobot has interchangeable hands for robot mode for show accurate appearence.

(with any luck the next announcement that excites me will be that the henkei version will have show colours)

A couple more.

Optimus returning from the dead, and finaly seeing him get killed 10yrs later on a bootleg VHS.

Beast Wars, pretty much every episode when I finaly got into it. Great story, great characters, great tie ins, great lack of teenagers(I liked the cavemen, they hit with sticks). I'm still waiting for a show movie or other TF related to top that series.

For me, it was Classics.

It's what got me back into collecting for the first time since Beast Wars.

G1 Starscream, but without the suck? REISSUE SOUNDWAVE?!?!?!!?!?!?

Heck yah.

YESSSSSS

THE most exciting announcement?

1984. When the very first TF commercial hit the airwaves. I think I lost control of all bodily functions.

Discovering through TF message boards that yes indeed, Hasbro made toys from ALL the characters on that G1 Transformers show. Though I guess that was more of a personal revelation.

What? I was born in '85 and had only seen a handful of G1 toys as a child, what was I supposed to think?

Er... don't watch the episodes with Devcon/Arcee/Unicron and the dozen or so other characters who never got toys then.
