For me, I think the relatively recent announcement of of Takara releasing Henkei Dirge and Thrust takes the trophy. Not only do they complete the Henkei Seekers, but they put to rest all the squabbling whether or not the coneheads will be released in the line.

I also want to give special mention to the announcement of Universe Bluestreak (or Silverstreak) at Botcon. I was just so impressed with this repaint that I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. :D

Probably when I found out they were doing MP Prime. The first time I saw the unpainted protos I nearly shat myself.

If we're talking franchise history, it was either this or Cullen being cast in the live action film, IMO.

I wasn't on forums when Masterpiece Prime was announced. I was always under the impression that he was first revealed, fully-painted at Botcon. Did unpainted protos surface before then?

Yeah, I remember looking at some of the unpainted shots and, at first, I thought he was a deluxe or maybe voyager sized figure.

YES YES THIS!

I was at botcon 2006 when the announcement was made and it was the single most awesome Transformer moment in my life.

For me, the announcement that there's going to be TF2.

Finding out that there was going to be a Transformers movie.

In 1986.

Discovering through TF message boards that yes indeed, Hasbro made toys from ALL the characters on that G1 Transformers show. Though I guess that was more of a personal revelation.

What? I was born in '85 and had only seen a handful of G1 toys as a child, what was I supposed to think?

That a live action TF movie was in the works.
