More unique than a weapons platform that has the shape of a t=rex and changes into a robot with demon wings and a ninja face??

Weapons platform? He's a flame thrower at best.

And, seriously, demon wings? Best rationalization of kibble ever.

AWESOME! i cant wait! :king :win :awsum

WOW!

uh...NO. WAIT.

OW!

$150 for a Voyager sized fig?

After spending all that cash on the UM upgrade, what's another $150, right? :roll

This thing really will have to be displayed with the classics!

WOW! :eek Your QUICK as f*ck to believe anything and run with it eh? Some advice for ya, dont believe the hype. Wait for release b4 making assumptions. There could be any number of things with the fact he looks small. For one, hes in Dino mode. And he DOES tower over Prime. It could be an angle, or even that the prototype is smaller then actual release. And any # of more things.

If so, oh boy! I hope it's another Wal-Mart exclusive so I can write "The Ballad of Wal-Mart Exclusive Masterpiece Grimlock."

I read somewhere that Hasbro is part of this and expect a "announcement" about it in Nov. We'll see :shrug

The picture was just$ confirmation of the previously translated Magazine page that said it was the same size as MP3 (which was SS).

And I don't know what "angle" everyone's talking about in the picture.

Look at the shadows. They're essentially places directly across from each other, and by no means does he "tower" over Prime.

Where did you read that Hasbro is involved? They said at Botcon 2008, just a few months ago, that they were not.

Hold on, what does the MP line have to do with ALT/BTs? it's 2 different lines.

The point is to get more awesome toys. It's not like you HAVE to buy them, but for those of us who appreciate them, like myself, it's more than welcomed.

This. I still want my MP Ironhide.

Which is why the MP line is limited by nature. A MP Ironhide wouldn't be anything larger or complex as an Alt/BT.

Except it would probably be larger, since it wouldn't have to be 1/24. And it wouldn't have to have a realistic interior to hamper transformation engineering, which by necessity would have to be complex to avoid shellformeritis. And it would look like a Vanette instead of being retrofitted into something current. In other words, it would be completely different from an Alt/BT interpretation. :eek The only limitation to the line is what Takara thinks it can and can't make money on. If they think they can make money by MP'ing every single pre- (or post- for that matter) movie TF, more power to them. I'll help fund their endeavor by buying those I want, even if it's something we "already have" as an Alt. 280ZX > Impreza any day of the week.

Hold on, what does the MP line have to do with ALT/BTs? it's 2 different lines.

Exactly. They may display well together but they're different approaches. On-topic example: I have Alt Grimlock, and I think he's pretty neat. I'm still getting MP Grimlock. They may even end up on the same shelf. MPs are MPs. Alts are Alts.

See for me my Alts are my MP Autobot cars. Classics BB fills part of that gap too.

Oooh, you just gave me an excuse to pick up Legends BB. I can "promote" Classics BB to my MP/Alternators shelf, and Legends BB can go on my Classics shelf. :thumb

Then how would you guys try to explain Alternator Optimus/Binaltech Convoy?

Ginrai'D

that's always made the most sense to me

PERSONAL CANON'D.

Demon wings complete with a dino head jetpack.

I can see where you all are getting at for stopping at MP Prime, but I have my own opinion. You don't need a G1 MP version for everybody, just the most iconic ones. Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream because these 3 will forever be known for there character depth. Soundwave's loyalty to Megatron was first rate, plus how could you not make a MP version for the robot that your faction symbol was modeled after. Did we need MP versions of all 3 seekers. HELL no, but it was a good way to increase revenues since the mold was already made. Do we need a MP Bumblebee, Cosmos, Huffer. No !!! A nice Hound or Jazz would be nice. We do need to catch up a little with the Autobots. Prime, UM, and now Grimlock versus Megs, SS, TC, SW. The Autobots are lacking 1. Well, enough of my ranting. Like I have said,in previous posts, I am a G wunner. I'm 31 and absolutely hold a special place in my heart for G1. Do I like other series.....yes !!! I will say this though, if there were no G1's, there wouldn't be anything. Well except for maybe GoBots, or Road Bots !!! :dclol

One more thing. I will be a little biased here. They MUST make a MP of my favorite Transformer.......Omega Supreme. That would just kick butt.

I really like it, but I don't have that kind of money to throw down

a quick MP question... maybe someone can clarify this for me...

Does the MP line now come in BOTH a JAP/Takara and US/Hasboro version???

I know that starscream did (not sure why).. but havn't the previous releases been Jap/Takara only??? Did the other 2 seekers come out in both versions also??

IF not, can someone give me an exhaustive list of BOTH lines plz and help clear this up. Thanks.

This Grimlock looks to be the best MP so far as both modes are spot-on toon accurate. I'll buy it without hesitation.
