  1. I've had him for a while, but I just can't put down Waspinator! His bot mode is excellent and his alt mode is okay, but still fun. Probably the best insect transformer to date. I do have one stress mark on his left shoulder next to the pin. It's not a crack but merely a white discoloration. It doesn't seem to be getting worse. My main gripe is I wish that his insect eyes were painted purple or blue. I mean they took the time to paint them silver, so I don't see why they couldn't have made them blue or purple.
  2. IDW Hoist IDW Thundercracker Tai Fong Robotic Aeroplane (eBay) G1 Seaspray (for my daughter)
  3. Picked up Predacons Rising Darksteel and a PRiD Vehicon today.
  4. My Perfect Effect Aranea finally came in today. This figure is definitely a unique twist on the Blackarachnia character, with the motorcycle alt mode and all. I've been excited about this figure since its announcement and instantly pre-ordered her. Upon receiving this figure, my disappointment grew. The packaging is excellent and with its outer cardboard box and inner plastic housing, makes you feel like it's a Takara Tomy figure. It comes with pretty worthless instructions on par with Hasbro's, but maybe a tad bit better. The included comic book is cool, has great artwork, and the story is pretty interesting, albeit short. So, let's get on with my disappointments. First off her face. It doesn't look anything like the photos you have seen. The silver paint used looks like a really shiny, laquer type paint. What they should have used is a flat silver and it would have looked better. Another thing is her lips. In the included comic book, she has purple lipstick. This detail is lacking on the figure and makes it look incomplete. Now, some of you might say that lipstick doesn't belong on a fembot, but for someone like Blackarachnia.....err, Aranea, it adds to the fact she is a serious femme fatale! another thing you'll notice about Aranea, is she is reminescent of a G1 "partsformer" as she comes with lots of snap on parts. Putting these parts on her bot mode is fine. When you have to snap parts on her altmode to complete it, kind of takes away from it. I mean it's a fun figure, but it's really tedious to transform. The accessories are awesome, and putting the drone together is fun. It kind of reminds me of putting together an Arms Micron weapon in a way, except you can keep taking it apart and put it back together. Another gripe is poseability. This figure should look agile and be able to get into some cool poses, but the articulation is lacking. A lot of the joints are super tight and will require some break in, but seriously, she could be more articulated. Now, I threw all the negatives out there, but she is still a fun character. After you transform her, the alt mode is stunning. It looks totally bad @$$. So, is this figure worth the $99? Only if you are a die-hard Blackarachnia fan or even just a lover of third party toys. Really though, a $50 price tag would be more acceptable. I have no regerets with this purchase as Blackarachnia truly is one of my favorite transformer characters and except for Animated Arachnid, we really havent seen a decent figure. I'll be adding some purple lipstick to this figure in the near future and she'll probably be displayed in my CHUG display later on. For now, she'll probably sit on my desk at work.
  5. I told you! The stickers about kicked my ass though. It's kinda sad(for me) how about half of them are inside his legs for city mode and carrier mode, he looks a little barren otherwise. Watch out for those three black rectangular stickers that go on the upper right hand shoulder next to his head, they are not numbered correctly and you will have to adjust/crop them if you don't catch it in a timely manner. it looks like they got the numbers jumbled like they did with 31 and 77(I think those are the right ones). The one next to the head if you follow the numbers is too long and should be I believe the middle one and vice versa. You might double check just to make sure. I'll be working on his joints over the next week or two, he's a bit too floppy out of the box, but at least he stands upright in a good guard position. My last real nit pick was his small guns that plug into his shoulders, the handles that fold down for them are loose so when he holds them in his hand, the guns tilt forward from the weight of the barrel. I'll fix that too eventually. Keep me in the loop on how you fix him. This Plex is going to my daughter. I have one preorders now through BBTS for myself. She LOVES this thing!!! She uses the bay door as a "jail"!! Cracks me up!!! I haven't even started on the stickers yet!! I'll be doing them soon!!
  6. Opened Plex last night!! Very awesome indeed. He is flimsy when standing, but I have seen some fixes for this. Now, my daughter wants one!!
  7. Nice. I went to TRU yesterday hoping NOT to find a Metroplex and unfortunately he wasn't there. :tfmad They had two on the shelf, so they might be limiting them since it's a big ticket transformer and FREAKIN' HUGE(it's akin in size to a mid sized suitcase) so if you don't see them, ask if they have any in back. Down side is both boxes were a little rough, so I got the least scuffed up one. I Tonight, sticker-fest 2013! So, you're opening Plex, but keeping the box? I'm just trying to get ideas. I want to open mine, but don't want to. My box is also somewhat rough. It's not bad, but not perfect. Dude! Get him out of the box already! my g/f referred to him as a lawn jockey no less(I used his big red gun and shot the missile at her). heh As for the box, I am keeping it for now, but am not sure for later on if I start having problems with free space in the domicile. But the box art is damned sweet! Thanks!!! I don't know what it is, but the older I get, the more I hate opening these things!! I don't have time tonight, but it'll be a good project for tomorrow night!!!!!

  9. Recent Purchases: RiD Vehicon x2 (Toys R Us) Beast Hunters Arcee (Target)
  10. I agree on the Orion Pax thing. I wish he was like the dock worker from the original animated series.I have the IDW Trail Breaker, Megatron, Orion Pax, and Bumblebee and haven't opened them up yet. They just look so nice in the package. I do have the Beast Hunters Prowl and WOW, what a great use for the Smokescreen mold!! It just looks so good!! Yesterday I picked up Beast Hunters Arcee and while the figure looks good, the colors are just off. But I guess all the Beast Hunters' colors are off.
  11. My Beast Hunters Prowl came in on Saturday!!! Very good repaint/retool of the Smokescreen mold!!!
