Henkei C12 Hound & C13 Cheetor Confirmed

FYI I never had problems with chrome wear on my G1 toys.

That's because you were thirty years old when they were new. You only fiddled with them while you waited your VHS of Raiders to rewind from the last time you watched it and then put them back on the shelf while you got your Indy on.

The rest of us were in our yard playing with our toys in the dirt. Goodbye, chrome.

And G1 Ravage's eyes were never chromed.

It was at least silver paint.

Gold, I think.

What, I'm not allowed to like paint if I dislike chrome?

But you're close to 30 right now, when these are new. It's not like you're going to ruin them again like you did your old toys.

Actually I kinda prefer the Henkei Sunstreaker and Ironhide. A minimal tasteful use of chrome is actually very pleasing to my eye. The Classics 1.0 figures had some odd chrome choices that are seriously hideous.

And :beer to Pete and his seniority.

Chromey toys like Scourge, TM Rattrap and Ultra Jetstorm have left a bad taste in the fandom's mouth.

My thoughts? Chrome LOOKS nice. But I don't need it. Especially since it masks detail a bit, and makes toys hard to photograph.

.. I lost interest in classics when they brought them back.. I haven't seen this line do anything that animated hasn't done better.. serious.. I'd rather take the time an effort trying to get the original G1 figures than wasting my time with these guys.. they're TOO MUCH like they were way back when.. and in some cases, not even done correctly. :shrug .. I dunno, something about the whole line pisses me off..

Much like the fantastic engineering but, IMO, ugly aesthetic of the Animated line pisses me off? We all have our different likes and dislikes, lets not try to piss in each others Cheerios, ok?

This pretty much sums up my feelings. Chrome, when done well, looks nice. No question. But really, it's not needed.

It's even worse when the chrome isn't done well, as seems to be the case with most TT Henkei! figures.

i wasn't the only one..... right?

Nope. :tflaugh Though my Joes had it a LOT worse. My poor Ace had permanent soapscum in his helmet.

in before "that's not soapscum"

Hasn't it been well-documented by now that the problem with these figures is that the plastic wasn't properly primed first? If you've got a G1 figure where the chrome is wearing off after X number of years, that's not the same as a BW or BM figure where the chrome is *flaking* off. I had that happen with a BM figure I owned. I bought it MOC and sure enough, the chrome was starting to crack right out of the package. Of course there's going to be chrome wear over time -- just like there's paint wear over time -- but let's not mistake that for a QC problem, which is what was happening with the BW/BM figures mentioned above.
