Henkei C12 Hound & C13 Cheetor Confirmed

All I know is that - like paint and die-cast and a lot of other stuff that's controversial around here - chrome is a tool that can add a lot to a figure when done right. I agree it wasn't always used wisely in previous Henkei releases and some Transmetal stuff, but it really makes things like G1 reissues and RiD Scourge's trailer (which I never had a problem with) look fantastic.

Just sit the Japanese Premium movie prime next to its American counterpart and you'll see what I mean. He literally shines. And I don't know if anyone else here owns a Masterpiece Voltron, but that's a perfect example of chrome (and die-cast, and everything else) done right.

No one has a problem with paint.

As for TT's Premium Movie Prime, yes, it is very pretty. I love the Movie Leader Prime mould, and when I saw the TT Premium version I had to keep myself from instinctively preordering it.

If you look at it though, you know what you'll find? Chrome done poorly. Chroming the truck grill isn't a bad move, far from it. It is a bad move, however, when the grill transforms into the robot's feet. If anything will chip/flake, that will.

The silver paint on my Hasbro Premium works just fine.

Yeah, putting traditionally fragile paintjobs on the only part of the robot guaranteed to come into contacts almost constantly with something else is a bad, bad idea.

AGAIN

it will only chip or flake if it wasn't applied properly. Otherwise it will just wear off over time (if you play with it and stuff).

Except for people who own Binaltechs.

And I really don't see the chrome coming off the bumper on my TT Premium Prime, mainly because I don't scoot it around and scrape it up against stuff. It just sits there.

People don't have a problem with paint on BTs, they have a problem with die-cast on BTs that leads to paint chipping. Paint on plastic works just fine.

As for Premium Prime, you have chrome on a body part constantly coming in contact with a surface, supporting the robot's entire weight. I'm not saying it will flake, but it will scratch/chip, just from pressure alone.
