What is everyones deal with chrome? With some noobs, Its like you think fans will hate you if you like it. Chrome is to bring back the era of G1. If you weren't there then you dont have any idea i guess.

I was there. Chrome was awesome when I was eight. But it's rubbed off all my figures since then and they look like crap. I'm past my "shiny things" phase and would like my product to last longer, thanks.

I think ppl are just jealous that Henkei! does a better job at their figures OR that you already have the figure and they did a better job. Either way, its childish.

 

I disagree with your entire post. I WAS there at the beginning, and I wasn't a big fan of chrome as a kid. It would flake/wear off and you were then left with some yellow or green gun and missiles or some crap. That's why I was STOKED to see the Hasbro G1 reissues had the guns/missiles in flat black plastic as opposed to chromed.

 

Also they used to a hell of a lot better job when chroming stuff back in the day. Now it's cheap and flakes/scratches way too easily.

 

And yes, Henkei does randomly chrome a lot of crap. Grimlock? Astrotrain? Bubmlebee? Seekers? Bah...crap chrome IMO. And I'm not jealous, I just don't like it.

 

Just like I don't like when people say they don't like something they get called "jealous" and "childish". People disagree about all kinds of crap, it does not make them "childish", nor does it make you superior in any way to call them so.

And will it makes me sound like a hypocrite if I said I've lost total interest on Henkei and shifted my attention to Classics 2.0, because at first, few months ago when Henkei was released, I was all like "OMG HENKEI >>>> HASBRO CLASSICS!!"

.. I lost interest in classics when they brought them back.. I haven't seen this line do anything that animated hasn't done better.. serious.. I'd rather take the time an effort trying to get the original G1 figures than wasting my time with these guys.. they're TOO MUCH like they were way back when.. and in some cases, not even done correctly. :shrug .. I dunno, something about the whole line pisses me off..

But just out of curiosity, why would you want to carry a toy around in your pocket?

FYI I never had problems with chrome wear on my G1 toys. And I like the chrome on the Henkei toys.
