Mine was an angsty quality control question because I had to leave my :animated Leader Megatron in Australia and hope that my mother can exchange it without sending me a popcorn maker or something by mistake :nooo

I addressed that as well.

Not good business to sell shoddy toys, and skimp on everything that makes them worth buying in the first place. So far I've been very fortunate with the Q/C on my animated figs but Universe (in package) is a huge turn off. Especially Prowl which is one of the few I was hoping to someday grab but can't get over how cheap/shoddy he looks. That and I find the rest of the line dull and uninspiring.

It saddens me that a vast majority of the questions are just people want all of G1 done more G1 like. Even the Classics/Universe figures which were supposed to embody G1 and appease the fans in the first place. I don't understand why people just don't collect the G1 figures and GTFO because that's all they seem to want in the first place anyway.

I personally don't get the chrome angst, but proper colors and decent paint aps are always a must in any toy line. A/E/C were IMO far superior in that regard to any line released now. Animated is nicely painted up but the Universe figs are much to bland, and the use of transparent plastic hasn't looked as good as it should since later waves of movie figs.

<To the Q version>

What I really wanted to ask is: With some real co-operating between all our community websites & otherwise 'online' fandom,

couldn't we work with Hasbro / Tomy to affect some positive creations ? (obviously idealistic, but impossible?)

Start with a single deluxe-sized figure that enough fans / sites / forums will back with capital, designs; even package-art. Arcee, Thundercracker, AlphaTrion - whoever gets enough votes and $ to justify at least a small batch run. Granted, there are many more issues to iron out before anything even makes the drawing table (which sounds like a great place to start) :tfgrin

<Rant on>

My 'burning question' IS multi-faceted - I keep reading arguments that our web-based fanbase constitutes only a fraction of TF-buying consumers. Understandably, we're not Hasbro's only customers, but every successive TF line seems to include more & better products catered to the demographic of guys (+ a few gals) who grew up enjoying the franchise. Homages to G1 abounded until TF-Classics: an entire SERIES of reworked G1 characters... (arguably the best yet).

It's been well-documented that fans make up about 15% of Hasbro's demographic for TFs.

Also, the fact that Hasbro is TAKING QUESTIONS FROM MESSAGE BOARDS should quell some of that wonder.

:tflaugh

Those, and the ones in the vein of "Dear Hasbro, you suck. Since you suck so much, what are you planning on doing in the future to prevent further suckitude?"

Every question in the other thread can be broken down into one of these topics:

"Dear Hasbro, you suck. Since you suck so much, what are you planning on doing in the future to prevent further suckitude?"

"Dear Hasbro, Are there any plans to make a new version of [Poster's favorite Transformer]?"

"Dear Hasbro, Is [Toy we've already seen upcoming product info on] in the works?"

"Dear Hasbro, [seeker angst]"

and lastly

"Dear Hasbro, [question that's already been asked before on numerous occasions but has not yet heard the answer THEY want to hear]."

"Dear Hasbro, [seeker angst]

This is my favorite. And you wonder why Hasbro doesn't want to "listen to the fans."

I got one.

"Where the @&&$ is my Ultra Magnus?!"

I got one.

"Where the @&&$ is my Ultra Magnus?!"

I always want to reply "LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL"

Dear Hasbro,

What are the realistic possibilities of seeing the Binaltech/Alternators line continue with improved distribution?

Thank you.

Because "more shelfwarming Alternators" is something Hasbro wants.

Argh, that's a pet peeve of mine. Alternator distribution was fine, that a particular store didn't order any to warm their shelves isn't really Hasbro's fault.

*hypothetically*

Dear Hasbro, why the F*CK does TCC suck at taking orders and processing them?

Dear Hasbro, why the F*CK do we not have the first 3 seekers as one mold (when your so BIG on repaints)'

No what i asked was something that will answer itself in time, and nothing i doubt will get answered. It was what the talk of a 'tribute' to Victory was all about. Like what characters. I guess with all the other fans, its hard to say they would answer it. Maybe though.

Question though, WHO picks the questions for Hasbro? Is it Hasbro themselves?
