when the hell did GF get retconned to fit into ML/SL? i've seen the series front to back and didn't notice any mentioning of the previous two shows at all. even minicons where given a new explanation.

Takara retconned it on their official timeline. They didn't make any actual changes to the show itself, they just placed it in the official timeline as taking place after Superlink, and no longer in its own continuity. This happened last year.

You could blame Hasbro, but I don't think that would make much sense.

As I said before Cybertron does well enough as a stand alone series. At no time while watching it did I notice any blatant attempt to shoe-horn it into the A/E continuity (they mention Unicron's destruction, but I took that to mean that Unicron's destruction was part of the back story that took place prior to the show starting. Not a reference to the A/E series).

 

And Kiss Players was sick. Very sick. The TF Wiki may "sensationalize" their coverage of how sick it was, but in the end all their points are valid.

This thread is to talks about how great the Japanese are at ruining TF canons. Any takers? Lemme start..

 

- There is always at least one hot headed Autobot (Cybertron) who doesn't like to follow orders and screws everything up.

- There is always at least one Decepticon (Destron) who learns the error of their ways and repents at the end of the series.

- Autobot leaders suck. Esp in Headmasters.

- "Eat this!" is a popular battle cry

- Females are useless, and non-existent in Victory.

- Robots and Magically appearing swords are pure win!

- Daniel is the biggest wuss in the universe.

- The introduction of a new Destron will show it as the meanest, baddest, low-down mo'-fo' around town, until the next new Decepticon comes in and then the previous is reduced to comic relief.

- Combiners? GATTAI GATTAI GATTAAAAAIIIII!!!!!!

- Destron leaders have a hard-on for Earth and always want to blow it up.

- If you're using an attack that relies on stock footage, the enemy will politely stand there and wait until you're done before attacking.

- Cars can drive in outer space.

- Even the bravest Decepticon will back off in the face of an angry girl.

- The only reason the Autobot and Decepticon war has been raging so long is because there weren't any kids around to tell them what to do.

- When reinforcements finally arrive, you must declare "I am your opponent!"

- Cars can disguise itself into billboard. I MEAN IT, A FRICKIN' BILLBOARD, DAMMIT!!

- A weird creature with giant :wang and a cuckoo clock? Fail

 

 

Some are simply copy pasta from another board, few others are by me.

 

And ultimately..

 

I've been saying this for a long time!

Japan is awesome for coming up with cool stuff like actual robots, singing toilets, and what not, but some things they just don't get and should simply stop!

A friend of mine took me to an Anime convention a while ago, what I saw was pure crap and it made me long for the quality we had when it was Japanamation, or even better before that, a cartoon from Japan.

their main gripe is legion's tongue, and venom's does the same thing. as for the girls looking underage it's a farging shojo, what do you expect?

Yes. One of the reasons I like the wiki so much is they present facts in an often funny way.

In the end, it does boil down to opinions on whether or not Kiss Players should be drug out back and shot, but I submit to you two pictures...
