No, I still haven't done a repaint yet, but that's a close guess! From my site: The recent repaint of classics Mirage into movie Fracture classics Crasher was very successful in the collector community. Perhaps a little too successful. Reasoning that it worked for Mirage, HasTak execs decided that fans must like gender bended repaints. And so it was that Trixie taught us the real truth behind hood chests… Unfortunately, the character was not a g1 homage so fans hated it. Released in Japan as WonderChest Wonderfest Classics Arcee, the figure was a resounding success. At first her torso was all pink, but then I thought, "You know what's classy? A belly shirt!" ~Matt Booker

What? That's the only action pose I could post without censoring. :tflaugh Very nice shot of Lio Convoy. He's often said to be particularly hard to photograph, isn't he? Also, those wst dinorobots are awesome. Just how small are they, though? (Like, maybe a comparison of Grimlock and animated Grimlock.) ~Matt Booker

Ratchet and Oilslick demonstrating that two staggering drunks can combine to form one stable stance. It might be a little late for Christmas stuff, but click the picture or visit MattBooker.info for my Twas The Night Before Christmas parody. :D ~Matt Booker

Omega Setninel had a much better color scheme. To the point I might've kept the body if I'd got him instead. (Though I think I like the head on Omega Supreme better...) Seriously, I REALLY like the headmaster for this. I'm surprised I held off buying him at full price. ~Matt Booker

I use Paint Shop Pro 9 (back when it was still owned by Jasc). It may be the poor man's Photoshop, but I like it better. As for the technique, I've thought about doing it for a while and finally tried to come up with something for my Ironhide guide, but I was sleepy and did it kind of quickly. I did figure out pretty much how I wanted to do it, though, and the Bumblebee picture came out very nice. (Notice how Bumblebee actually tfs in between Shockwave's arms.) When I get Blur, expect more of these! :D ~Matt Booker

It looks really cool from those angles. From the side, it looks like half a jet with a backpack. Also cool looking is the gerwalk mode, but in person it looks kind of dumb. But, I've never been partial to those modes anyway. ~Matt Booker

Count yourself lucky that you haven't carved the middle piece, as you might not need to if you do my backpack mod. :) Still, I can't argue much about a second cannon for him. As for Ratchet... I may do that. I want to say it's likely that Hasbro make a Ratchet, but usually for classics it's been Hasbro first and Takara second. Ratchet's the first classic to come out over there first. But, Hastak does love repaints, and Ratchet would be well received. ~Matt Booker

Thanks! :D It's been a while since I watched the movie, so I had to look up Ironhide's quote. No, I'm still scared of painting. :emo Why I got him is kind of complicated, but there are two main reasons. 1, A popular mod for him is to carve the central gray piece so it doesn't hit against the bumper. This lets you slide the hips forward more. In addition, you're supposed to carve the top of the crotch piece so the bumper has more clearance. That didn't solve the issue, and carving the top of the crotch doesn't do much because it leaves the hips higher and they hit the bumper then. So I figured out a way to mod the backpack, which lets it swing around and securely clip where I think it was intended to when designed. This lets you slide the hips all the way forward and his head is then flush with the top of the body. That creates ANOTHER problem. His stature was no longer humanesque, and therefore displeasing to the eye. I've posted about this before (with pictures), but basically it causes his head to sit far back while his hips are far forward and his arms are in the middle. H .A ..L So to correct that, you can lean him forward a little. That lines everything up, but causes his head to look down. So I added a ball joint to the head, and moved his hips back a bit so he lines up better. So he still had a carved crotch issue, and I suspected that I didn't even need to carve the middle piece. I found and Ironhide today and took the lower half from it and put it on the upper half of my modded Ironhide. It fits! And now there's not a huge hole in his middle when you look at it from the side. So no carving of the middle piece is needed at all. (If you put his head on a ball joint, it's perfect. If you don't, and still want the hips all the way forward so the head is up that last little bit, only a small amount of carving to the middle piece is needed.) That's lengthy to explain, and if it's not clear I apologize. In a week or so I'll have a guide prepared, and within it you'll find all the different options for display and how to mod him to be that way. ~Matt Booker

I had no idea there was a new plastic version!!! The heavy weight and scratch prone die cast was what kept me away from the original MP. *WANT* How much did it set you back? And do you know the official product name so I can google it and possibly scrounge up enough to get it someday? :D ~Matt Booker

ROFL at "I am King of Awesome." What version is this? It's not the masterpiece edition, is it? Looks hawtsome either way. I wanted the Voltron lions more than transformers when I was a kid. Never got them, though. (I did have a decently posable die cast voltron figure. IT HAD KNEES!) ~Matt Booker
