TRANSFORMERS UNIVERSE - to scale or not to scale

I like general scale, if a character is larger on screen, so it should be in the box. However, if a figure is to big or to small, I won't complain on average as long as it's good.

Sentinel Prime though is a bit to tiny for me though, as NightScream was way to big. So I guess in extreme cases, yeah, out of scale figures are a little annoying.

Man, your reply is almost by far the best i've read in this topic.

I already forgot that Nightscream dude from BM, he was supposed to be the smallest of the pack, and instead , they produced a toy like if he was meant to be like...how would i say...like real life size.

Yes, we need that our future releases for TF`s toys trend to be in scale just as accurate as they should be.

just remember, how awesome are the Masterpiece & Binaltech lines. and they are in scale.

You should have left well enough alone. Your killing me by making it so easy!!!

But theres a fine line between kidding around and being a jerk that I'm not looking to cross.

So it's all good man, thanks for being a sport :tflaugh

No worries. The way I read your post it seemed like you didn't get it and figured you just read it wrong.

If I wasn't sport for it I wouldn't have done the original joke. :thumb

You guys realize that Hasbro creates Size classes based on how they predict the character will sell right?

Deluxe is by far the most profitable size class for them.

yes, but that doesn`t mean they are doing the right thing. If we don't propose a "line-up" or a "wish list", like other toys collector do, then what are we going to receive?.

Nothing but Peg-warmers, and subsecuentially, the cancellation of the line, c'mon remember the Beast Machines line, it was cancelled because there were too many "on sale" tags at the retail. and it almost caused the TF's toys go to the archives oblivion. If it wasn't for the excellent CAR ROBOTS 2000 toys that Takara produced 2 years later. were would we be right now?

Heck! maybe even this website wouldn't even exist.

Beast Machines was not canceled because there were too many "Shelf Warmers". I mean Hasbro didn't sit there and go, "Hmmm...the toys aren't selling let's cancel the whole show." It was more like "The show isn't getting the ratings we would like. We are going to axe the show. With no show then there is no point in continuing with the toy line either." For the record...and I know I'm probably in a minority here, but I liked the Nightscream figure.

Sorry but this is just a silly argument. Hasbro knows that your gonna buy their figures no matter WHAT the scale is...am I right? I bet you anything you buy that Voyager Cyclonus when he comes out because despite his scale he's gonna kick ass.

And like I said earlier...keep up the complaining and Hasbro will pick up their toys and go home. Then there won't be ANY TF's for you to complain about.

I agree, and thats why even when people say "It's never gonna happen" I speak up and urge others to as well. On the last site I was involved with, the founder flat out said that Hasbro monitors forums. It's one of the reasons why I keep denouncing the cheering of repedative repaints, and spitting out ideas like Classics Predaking.

Case in point, by the end of Beast Machines, people where clamoring for Transformers to be cars again. So what do they do, scrap Transtech, and import some cars from Takara(who also was sited as monitoring forums).

If you clap for whatever, they'll think your satisfied with it. But if you think big and loud, they'll eventualy have to step up to keep getting your dollar!

These forums are our voice, and you gotta speak if you wanna be heard!!!

Poor ratings and shelf warmers are the same thing when you get right down to it. And again I mention that They where working on Transtech as a follow up to Beast Machines, but what, the poor sales ratings and complaints made them go in a different direction!?!

Well that doesn't sound like a company doing what they wanna do no matter what the consumer sayes. Score one for the dollar vote being cast towards taste.

But no, we shouldn't complain cause realy they've only been sharing their toys with us so far, and may decide not to anymore, cause after all, they most likely have enough of our money.

Oh wait, thats not how business works. OK, well tell Hasbro what, I have to work real hard for my dollar and constantly step up my game to keep earning more of them. IF they want to keep getting some of my money, they better do the same!

It's our right to complain when nessicary, and to demand better. And if they don't wanna step it up like they should in quality and preformance, well who needs them with online retail what it is today, we can just go to TomyTak dirrect, and they know that too.

Keep asking for better people, the worst that'll happen is that you just might get it.

Dude, there are a million thousand other "what I (we) would like Hasbro to make" threads in existence on dozens of boards.

None of them have worked.

And no way is the Masterpiece/Binaltech line completely in scale like you're saying (look at Masterpiece Megatron and Starscream for alt. mode scale, or Masterpiece Prime and Binaltech Grimlock for robot mode scale).

To me things like the MP line are an easy exception for scale. I was actualy thinking before that if TFs wher to scale Megatron would be about midshine. So realy, you have to give a certain amount of leway to scale.

As saying though that there are alot of wish list threads and things like that that go unabaited, well, your right. But how many do you think can be grouped into catagory?

The number would still be astronaomical if not 5, but thats absoutly no reason to pipe up. Lots of good ideas get side stepped all the time, but if they aren't voiced, they won't even have the chance to be passed over let alone come to light.

If a million voices don't speak a trillion thoughts, the sun mine as well not even come up tomorrow, as it'll mean we're done.

So what about the Animated Shelf Warmers? Does that mean that the ratings for Animated are low? Don't get me wrong I LOVE the Animated line BUT, and I don't know about where you live, Ratchet and BA are CHOKING the Animated shelves. I don't however mean that that shows bad ratings for Animated.

Well that doesn't sound like a company doing what they wanna do no matter what the consumer sayes. Score one for the dollar vote being cast towards taste.

but then we got RID, Armada, Energon and Cybertron...inspite of cries from "Collectors". Why? The KIDS ate it up so they kept cramming it down our throats no matter what the collectors said.

But no, we shouldn't complain cause realy they've only been sharing their toys with us so far, and may decide not to anymore, cause after all, they most likely have enough of our money.

No because ultimately it's not the collectors that Hasbro is going to listen to and the Kids don't know any better. THUS I'm happy to let Hasbro just do what they want. Things like scale don't bother me. Show accuracy doesn't bother me. Many times figures have come out that are NOT show accurate but have incredible designs. Case in point...How many years have collectors CRIED for Hasbro to make a Show accurate G1 Arcee? For how many years has Hasbro given up pink motorcycles or non-transformable sculptures? Is Hasbro listening to the collectors?

Oh wait, thats not how business works. OK, well tell Hasbro what, I have to work real hard for my dollar and constantly step up my game to keep earning more of them. IF they want to keep getting some of my money, they better do the same!

I do work hard for my money. I don't expect Hasbro to step up and satisfy ME as a collector because it's just not gonna happen. Takara on the other hand...I'll give them that they DO consider the collector ie. the MP and Binaltech line. Now Hasbro TRIED to appease the collector but as a collector, I much prefer the dicast Binaltechs to Hasbro's plastic Alternators. I will give Hasbro one plus...G1 Color MP Starscream was a great attempt that really worked well for both collectors and Hasbro. Since then they have hemed and hawed about IF they will do any other MPs like a US release G1 colored MP TC and SW. I mean you would think it's a no brainer that Hasbro would look at the success of SC and say HELL YEAH...that's what the collectors want...let's do that NOW. I mean it's just a matter of repainting. I'm not going to cry to Hasbro about it. It's their business. If they put it out they put it out. IN the meantime...I am MORE than happy with what we are getting now.

It's our right to complain when nessicary, and to demand better. And if they don't wanna step it up like they should in quality and preformance, well who needs them with online retail what it is today, we can just go to TomyTak dirrect, and they know that too.

Your right...it is your right to complain. I'm just not holding my breath. IF Hasbro is finally moved to listen and start doing some of the things that collectors are complaining about then that's awsome! I just don't see it happening anytime soon.
