I thought Frenzy was a silver/gray color?

Someone's never seen G1.

As for the discussion, It's FIBRIR for me. I don't know why, but for some reason It just seems right. As for the Telatraan 1 entry, Think about multi-verse/continuity. It is, indeed, usually the first thats right in these discussions, but everyone has their dislikes about certain continuities, And favorites from others. Thats why personal cannon exists. You all have one. There's no denying it. IT'S THE TRUTH! WILL SET YOU FREeEe!!!! (obligitary movie refrens tiem!) so this whole think is just a fact of personal canon. I hate to sound Father Timeish, but yea.

Excuse me if this was previously stated, I haven't read all the posts.

This is an untenable argument in any direction.

Originally Rumble was clearly supposed to be Red. The Comics were right to follow that model. But the point became moot about five min after the first episode aired.

However though in a minority of TYPES of fiction, Blue Rumble was in the most wide spread form of the G1 mythos, the tv show. Not only is it the most repeated and most wide spread, but Blue Rumble had a TON of named character consistent screen time. I’d bet line for line there is more Blue Rumble in the TV show than Red Rumble in all those other medium combined, or close to.

Does that invalidate Red Rumble? No, not really. But you can’t “prove” one way or the other with original intent or a spread sheet either.

Blue Rumble is a stable Meme, Red Rumble is it’s stable competitor.

So…Is Rumble Red or Blue?

The answer is, Yes.

Anything else belongs in the bin with the other retcons, Fanfics, and Magic Shrinky.

I can live with that logic.

I remember having this argument with my best friend/neighbor when I was 8. I had the toys with the box and he said they got the names wrong on the box. I called him an idiot b/c I had the toy befor the show came on.

looks like a lot of people had the same argument...on both sides.

*SIGH* Not again. :brickwall :argh :nooo :badhorse :tfmad

FACT: Rumble is blue* and Frenzy is red in the animation ONLY (English language version). In every other medium (toys, comics, books etc etc) Rumble is red and Frenzy is blue.

*actually purple, but in these discussion everyone seems to treat blue and purple as the same colour. :/

THE END (for the love of all that's holy please :lock)

P.S.: In the movie Frenzy has blue eyes - and he's the only Decepticon who has blue eyes (the others all have red eyes). Although the toy has red eyes. Either way, the character itself is neither blue nor red but silver. Magick Missile'd!

See my previous post about comparison list counterpoints.

I think I covered the spread sheet thing too.

It's a valid point, but it really doesn't solve anything. It's not really the nature of the dispute.

...why can't people just accept the fact that it's FIRRIB in the cartoon/DD and FIBRIR everywhere else? (o_O)

You know this discussion was banned on the alt.toys.transformers newsgroup and it's also similarly a disallowed topic on a lot of other Transformer boards - because quite frankly, as stated on TF wiki, "After endless discussion threads fueled by little more than personal preference" - i.e.: these are neverending debates which cannot be resolved because people keep insisting on arguing over opinions rather than facts. Debating over sheer opinions is pointless and just goes round in circles. The fact that FIRRIB/FIBRIR debates have existed since 1994 (even after the newsgroup ban) shows that this is just a pointless argument. If 14 years of online debate has failed to yield a consensus, I severely doubt that allowing it to continue any further would bring any further productive results. (-_-)

Facts are facts - they are immutable. Personal opinions and preferences are subjective... everyone's entitled to their own preference - but why argue over it?! It's like arguing over something like "which tastes better, fish or chicken?!" - ffs WHO CARES?! It's up to the individual! There are certain nutritional facts about fish and chicken which are immutable and not open to debate, but it's not as if people go around having freakin' arguments over which one they prefer eating. AAAAAARGGHH!

IMHO this needs to be a disallowed discussion topic alongside other such banal topics (which are banned on some TF newsgroups and boards) like

+ Unicron vs Death Star - who would win

+ Transformers gender, sex and sexuality

...after nearly a decade and a half of online TF discussion (and over 2 decades including pre-internet discussions with other TF fans IRL and on local dial-up BBSes) I am just thoroughly sick and tired of these debates (WHY does someone always bring them up?! WHY??)

Every time someone brings up one of those debates, Domo-Kun kills a kitten. Please save kittens.

*leaves this thread*

Or, Goki, you can try to not take it so seriously.

Which goes for all of you, BTW.
