During G1 Era = any time between 1984-1993.

After G1 Era = any time after 1993 (i.e.: 1994 to present).

Notice that I haven't used the word "collecting." This question is asking about how long you have been actively into Transformers (i.e.: an active fan). By "active" I mean that you were consciously a fan of Transformers - you must have been doing something related to the fandom during that time, e.g.: collecting toys and/or collecting comics and/or writing fan fics etc. If you spent some time just "liking" Transformers but didn't actually do anything related to Transformers then you would be a "passive" fan, which doesn't count for the purpose of this poll - we're just looking at your years of "active" fandom here. :)

I've personally been an active fan of Transformers since 1984 and haven't stopped. (^_^)

Now vote and if you like, tell us about your fandom! :D

G1 and never stopped.

Although I will admit to ignoring most of the current-at-the-time fiction between the first season of Beast Machines and The Bay Movie. But I was always checking out (and occasionally buying) the current toys, amassing my G1 cartoon DVDs, and following along with the online community as best I could in those dial-up days.

I started at the beginning of 1985, but lost interest after season 3 of the cartoon. I became a passive fan again when Beast Wars came out, but it wasn't until the movie reminded me of my youth and the nostalgia bug hit me that I became an active fan again. Now I collect equal portions of classic and Animated. I've stayed away from the movie line of toys as they don't do it for me.

I only had a few G1 figures, so I don't know that I actively collected them. I started with Beast Wars, took a short break with RiD (for some odd reason), and started back up with Armada.

Started with G2 and never stopped, though staying through BM was tough, and I quit watching the UT five or so episodes into Energon.

I was a fan back in the G1 days. But I never had much money as a kid so I didn't have many figures. After the show went off the air I lost interest. Bought some micromaster guys, but I was more into Ninja Turtles at the time. When Beast Wars came out I balked at first. But curiosity got the best of me and I ended buying some and watching the show. And I've never looked back.

Started with G1 then stopped when I didn't see anything in stores. Then came EBAY I signed on in 1998 and started again.

Well, it all started when I got G2 Long Haul (the rolling one). Sure, it might not have been that great a toy, but I thought it was awesome - it had everything it needed to be played with. Firing missiles, this cool little claw thing, a nice and simple Transformation and a place to store everything (no silly parts forming). And then it just got worse.

I got given loads of my first ones, like two Cyber Jets (I think Hooligan and Jetfire). Half of Hooligan has now been lost, well, over half now (most of the arm/leg pieces), but those were great little toys, so much possability. In those days, well, they were awesome. Plus since they were the same, I loved combining the different arm and leg bits together, making super bots and all that (that's how I lost the bits).

Then it got worse with some other TFs being given to me, like G2 Prime (well, it was the repainted G1 Optimus with that light/sound unit). It was in those days that I was in the young years of school, and we had play time with toys and stuff. They had Onslaught for one thing. Everyone fought over that one.

Because I was so young, I was mostly content with the ones I had, and sometimes got a new one.

And then Beast Wars came out a few years later. That had me hooked on Transformers. Since I had never seen the G1 series, but read a few of the UK comics (and there was much awesomeness in them, especially the annuals), this was a new concept to me. Well, except for the movie - this was what started it for me (and just for the record, even at my young age, I hated Wheelie and loved Springer). I managed to get a few toys, including Megatron (this was the time when I started liking the bad guys more than the good guys as well). The TV series was awesome, and then the TV channel screwed me over and cut off ALL of series 3. I never saw any of it. And series 1 had been very patchy, episodes missed (including concluding parts of the two parters), and whatnot. It was incredibally frustrating, but the show was so amazing I kept with it.

Even now, I haven't seen every BW episode, only because I need to sit through them all in order. But I kept on getting a couple of toys a year, not many, only on Birthdays/Christmas at this stage. It wasn't until I started getting money (when I was about 13/14 that I really started collecting and getting a few of the old ones off Ebay, thanks to my dad).

Then a few years later, with nothing new having come out, and then we had A/E/C. Good grief, the shows sucked, but some of the toys I loved, and so I grabbed a few of those, including Sharkticon and whatnot. This was the time I got my dad to use Ebay lot more, grabbing me my favourite BW TF, Rampage. And there was much rejoicing. And then there was the best Ebay buy I ever made: RiD Megatron. I don't care what others ay, he's my favourite Transformer EVER. So there was much rejoicing.

Soon after this I didn't buy any more because there was nothing coming out (again). Then it got to my 18th birthday, I was in Canada celebrating and the movie came out. And so I (eventually) got one of each Movie Decepticon. And there was much rejoicing. And now we have Animated. And there was much rejoicing.

So yes, I guess it's been about 14-15 years of TF collecting for me, maybe a bit less. I'm not sure when I got my first Transformer, but whenever it was, it was Long Haul, and there much rejoicing throughout the years. It's why Long Haul is my favourite Constructicon, because HE was my first toy. *sniffle I still have him though, so lots of rejoicing can be had :)

Now, I guess I've warbled on long enough, and most of you are now asleep with boredom, I'll leave you now. (And there was much rejoicing)

Was a passive fan of the toys, but a big watcher of the show during BW/BM days. Started collecting during RiD. Took a break during Armada, then when Energon came around, started and haven't stopped since. During my non-TF days it was all about the Power Ranger toys.

I guess with regard to being an "active" fan, I was started in G1 collected the comics through G2 and then stopped until the BT/Alts arrived on the scene; however, I was a regular watcher of the BW show during the 90s (I just never collected the toys).
