The whole stupid surfer dude persona they have attached to him in the show doesn't help either. All those guns and he's not some bad ass bot.... just a beach bum, shame really.

I think it would have been better if E-Ironhide had been a deluxe-sized figure, just downsize him somewhat and eliminate the rather weak electronic noise feature.

 

My choice to replace him as a Mega: E-Rodimus - he would have been even cooler as a larger figure (and better in scale with Optimus as they're roughly the same size on the show).

The reason he is everywere is simple he has been in 3 waves. Wave 1 (2), Wave 1.5 (2), Wave 2 (1). I mean how many Ironhides must be shipped to stores, IMO put a character like Shockblast (hughly wanted character) in 3 waves not Ironhide (collectors not much for him). O well just a really bad move as I have yet to see and Shockblast, and Cliffjumpers (saw Mirage 5 times thats it and I shop a lot)

Worst figure ever... maybe even worse the g1 ironhides toy. bad color chibified alt form and the turret. I really hate that transformer!!!

Reason: The toy is crap, the character is worse than Hot Shot was in Armada, and Hot Shot was actually a good character to begin with. Ironhide here just sucks ass. He's annoying! The kids gotta like the character and the toy to get the toy.

 

Maybe that's why I haven't seen Jetfire until recently. Jetfire is likable, the toy looks neat and plus he's a space shuttle. Kids love space stuff (from what I gather).

 

So it's all about liking the character IMO.

When I first saw him, he reminded me of tonka. :tflaugh He is okay, not the best, but not the worst either.

I got him as a present, and I have to say I like his Robot mode (he looks very well on my shelf, holding the Energon Sabre), but his Alt mode kinda sucks.

 

Energon is still on wave one in the UK, and already all you can find on the shelves are Ironhides. I don't like his persona in the show either. When I heard they were brining an character called Ironhide into the new show, I had glorious visions of the old-timer in a new age, pity he's actually a punk :redface
