It doesn't make sense really: he's one of the main characters on the show, appeals somewhat to kids, kinda like the Armada Hot SHot for Energon yet he's not selling all that well at all. Any reasons?

Yeah, just made too many, and not EVERY kid is gonna' have $20 to blow on Ironhide.

Being as how I don't think kids are really watching the show,(hence the 5:00 am time slot) I think we are the only ones really watching Energon. A lot of people think Ironhide's voice is the most annoying thing ever. (me included) I'm not going to buy it because I hate the character so much. I just want him to die. Oh well, maybe that's the reason, maybe it's not.

Hasbro overproduced ironhide and forgot to produce more E-Magnus toys. Serves them right

I've wondered the same thing. While most fans don't consider E-Ironhide that great of a figure, he was probably shipped in close to the same numbers as Jetfire (not forgetting Treadshot but he was only in the first half wave or so) and Jetfire is also not considered to be that great, yet Jetfire is sold out of most of the places I frequent. I think this is odd as Jetfire isn't featured nearly as heavily on the Energon show.

 

I wonder if Ironhide had originally come with a different (more coherent and aggresive) paint job would he have sold better? Something that made him look a little less Tonka-truckish.

Just too many shipped in each wave. I think Ironhide has been included in every wave released so far.
