I found this parked outside my house one time - and I couldn't resist the photo op ;)

Very nice... makes me want to try to do the SAME for all the ones of the BT line I have. That would be pretty cool - to create a small photo album of them all that way.

Hmm... or just start a scavenger hunt thread here... credit for each person who brings in a photo of one of the ALT/BT 'actual' cars - same year, make, model and color - with their cooresponding toy in ROBOT mode standing on top of it. :D

that does sound like a fun scavenger hunt... hard too... i never see these cars anywhere around my alternators.... and i never travel with them.. seems like it would be a lost thread quickly

Absolute, Hands down...........Hmm. I wanna say Alts/BT but I know if it came down to it, if I could only save a few figs, it would be my MP figs. I love the Alts still equally. Alt was a full on toy line so technically, maybe that should be the answer. Alts and MPs is what made me join this group in the first place. My first post is about MP Prime.

Yes, that is why it would have to be a scavenger hunt... you would have to find the vehicle within a proximity of your home.. so you could go grab the appropriate ALT/BT and return for a quick photo op. Or bring a TF to a place you have seen a particular vehicle repeatedly. For example, I know someone at my wife's work has a Dodge Ram - it's always parked out in the parking lot. A CAR dealership might be a great place also. It would definately take some time, and dthe thread would get get lost - both those scavenging to find one could easily save it or do a search for it. Would be a challenge tho.

I am truly surprised to see the CLASSIC's line doing so well.

It does seem pretty evident that the ALT/BT/MP lines are what brought a lot of people back to the TF scene (myself included).

I like your idea of that kind of scavenger hunt. :)

Here are some other pictures, but they don't quite fit what you're looking for in that kind of scavenger hunt...

Firstly, while I was literally about to cross the road to attend a TF fan meet when this Nissan Fairlady (G1 Bluestreak/Prowl) drove by!

And I once found this VW Beetle while I was overseas and I happened to have Classics Bumblebee on me.

Just FYI, if you get a picture of Alternators Smokescreen on top of Tommi Makinen's 2003 Subaru Impreza WRC from the Rallye Automobile de Monte-Carlo...

...you automatically win.

I'm down with Classics cause they are what my nostalgic Brain tells me my toys were... If they had some chrome parts the illusion would be complete.

I am truly surprised to see the CLASSIC's line doing so well.

Yep, who would have thought that accurate updates of classic G1 characters sold at standard price points with a variety of alt modes that captures the essence of each character would have been a huge hit among TFandom?

comeon.. are we going to let classics take this??? Surely ALT/BT or even G1 can summon up 4 more votes to overtake the Classics line. Or the mighty MP line can flex some muscle.

It's all about the Alternators/Binaltech line for me. MY reasons for such are listed below.

Just Plain Bad

G1- I like the rubber tires and the diecast but without my nostalgia goggles on, they're just bricks. I was old enough to be there but I'm not old enough to be set in my ways or opinions.

Beast Wars- The best Transformers show to date(no Halloween costumes) but the toys don't translate well from their CG counterparts.

Energon/Cybertron/Armada- A few decent designs but to me, they're updated GOBOTS. Yeah, I went there. Trix are for kids and so are TOO many gimmicks.

Movie- Good movie and good "real world" designs but they translated horribly(Prime included) into toys.

Good

Classics- REALLY suffer without a standard scale but most have really good designs, decent character choices and variety.

Animated- I'm not really liking their proportions but they actually look like their animated counterparts and the transformations are complex enough so that they're not boring.

Really Good

Masterpiece- Top designs, complex transformations and great character choices make this line tops. It would have been my favorite but there are just TOO few of them, lack of a set scale and their cost keep them from being my favorite line.

Great

Alternators/Binaltech- REAL cars, good designs, complex transformations, decent character choices, EXTREMELY reasonable price point and having an official scale make this line the best of the bunch. I do admit that if I were still a kid who played with them, their complexity would get old during transformations. I just couldn't make the transformation sounds long enough to cover the whole transformation, especially for the Mustangs.
