Japan To Get USA Ed. Powerglide, Silverbolt, Onslaught

Recommended Posts

meh. I'm still not sure if I want to drop $25 on that Powerglide mold, so I definitely don't want to drop $45+ for a red one.

Pass.

They are "USA Edition" because they are in USA style (ie" English) packaging, plus the term makes the figs sound better to fans. Like Using Japanese boxes to sell Lio-Convoy online as a "Japanese Exclusive" in the USA...

It depends on what type of TF fan ya are, but if you love the G1 tv series then it's hard not to prefer takara's stuff! Powerglide looks right, Onslaught's got his Yellow eyes, Silverbolt's spiffy white, and Skyfire is finally Skyfire instead of that Macross knock off Jetfire!

Japanese Jetfire looks quite awful.

Powerglide... eh. To be honest, I like the red better, but the mold is so hideous it's a moot point.

Onslaught and Silverbolt look similar enough that I don't care either way.

Jetfire was always a Macross KO. Besides TT's version didn't change the Macross-ness of him, they just dulled down the colour scheme.

Besides, I thought the show's Skyfire character model sucks when compared to the (mostly) unused toy accurate model....

Yellow eyes? Yeah, not importing something over yellow eyes. Same with Silverbolt. Not importing him just because he's bleached. Doesn't Hasbro's light grey colour scheme make sense for someone called Silverbolt?

Powerglide? I don't care either way. The only reason I'm getting the figure is because I think the mould rules as an update for the character. Never cared about the character, so his out of place rust red scheme doesn't really matter for me. So I'll take the Hasbro version 'cause it's cheaper and it'll give the Autobot flyers a sense of uniformity.

For realism Powerglide should be Green

For :awsum Powerglide should be Navy Blue.

WOW

I'm just glad I have the choice now rather than after I buy the whole US line then they come out and I have to buy them all over again.

I'm Thankful they were quick to give the Japanese version this time!

I wonder if Hasbro's evil scheme is to color the eventual repaint red?

That would be Bad Boy, NLTAG. Powerglide should be Yellow with Black Tiger Stripes.

This is just like Henkei Megatron. Everyone batched about that piece of chrome and claimed the Hasbro version was better, but we all know which Powerglide would warm the shelves over here if Hasbro released both.
