I thought that Hasbro's stance was that they weren't going to bring us any other Seekers because "no one would buy so many of the same mold" but now we have Acid Storm comming to the shelves. Now I am going to buy him because I just love the seekers and this onw is a definate "SOLD" to me but ... well I know I'm ranting but why isn't there a Thundercracker for the mass market? Hey, I'll even take a change in the pain job from the exclusive item just to have him and the rest of the seekers. To those of us that were'nt able to get him I feel it's still a kick too the crotch with spiked stellettoes. Does the mark of Acid Storm mean that Hasbro is just testing the market? Or do you think that Henkai will be the first to create the full line for mass market? I'd hope that Hasbro would be first to the punch. Thoughts? ^_^

Hasbro's stance was "we're not making the other Seekers because the line will not be continuing."

 

Well, after the fact, they changed their mind and it continued. The Seekers produced for Botcon will probably never be made for the Universe line, or they would've spent the resources used to make Acid Storm to make one of them.

Personally, I'm glad we're getting another Seeker mold. I missed out on getting Starscream and Skywarp when they were out, and I never had a chance to get Thundercracker, so I'll most likely be buying three of him and busting out the paints.

 

Then I'll finally be able to pose Screamer and Megs in compromising positions while my Autobots look on in confusion, terror, and delight :D

Acid Storm rules, BTW. He's a two-in-one figure. If you don't want to spend the cash to get BotCon Thundercracker Acid Storm works in his place, his deco is reminiscent of the one used for Machine Wars Thundercracker.

He could also serve as a Rainmaker, one of a group of three generic Seekers seen in the original cartoon.

I'll definitely pick him up. Here's hoping we get more Seeker repaints with Universe (ok, all I really want is Sunstorm, but some generic Seekers would also PWN).

And I'm not pissed off at Acidstorm. He's a cool character it's just that I'm still feeling short changed. I do however also feel that it is great great that we will have a seeker for repainting. I'd make Sunstorm and Rainmaker and even think of making an Acidstorm the way he should be as well as a Thundercracker. Looks like our boy acidstorm's going to make his way to becoming a best seller? ^_^

I'm counting on getting acid storm as well.. obscure seeker ftw!

 

Actually... I'm missing pretty much all of the classics seekers. All I have is Skywarp (personally, Skywarp, to me has always had the better color scheme anyway) so.. thats all I really care about as far as that goes. - if it was those silly g1 Diaclone seekers, it would be another story.. I do hope to get the rest of those guys some day.

 

.. although I would of been happy with a classics Thundercracker for the common schmuck too. If anything, Botcon should of got the generic seekers.. not the other way around.

I've always considered the yellow one to be Sunstorm, even if the colours are a bit different from Sunstorm's appearance in More Than Meets The Eye Part 1.

 

I really hope that TakaraTomy will give us Henkei Thundercracker. That'd be awesome. Henkei Thundercracker should also be different from BotCon Thundercracker (I'm sure it would have to be). BotCon Thundercracker's blue is midway between G1 toy/comic Thundercracker's dark blue and G1 cartoon Thundercracker's sky blue (which SCF/HOC and Robot Master Thundercracker had). Henkei Thundercracker's blue should be one of those two - probably the toon-accurate sky blue. :)

 

Now they need to release that third blue rainmaker - and somehow make it different from Thundercracker. :P :P

Botcon Exclusives at retail...not unless you change the mold (Ironhide). Acidstorm will make a fine addition as my Thundercracker repaint, but not as himself. I may buy an extra to do something else with him (Leader-one...hmmm) but while nice, I don't really dig random repaints.
