Just Finally Saw Beast Wars now on Season 2

Recommended Posts

Well while Beast Wars was on the tele back in the 90's, I was too busy being a grown up and working my ass off.

Anyhow I have now found the whole beast wars collection on net flix and have been watching them all back to back.

So far I like what I'm watching (waaaaaaaay better then the G1 cartoon) but I'm hoping that season three is a little more serial/soap like in terms of every episode relys on the next. I thought that season 1 just had way to many stand alone episodes.

I get the start of season 2 tomorrow, and boy I cant wait till I see them introduce my favorite character tigerhawk.

So can some of you veterens on the show tell me what I get to look forward to? with out ruining the story....

You've just scratched the tip of the iceberg. If you thought Season 1 was cool, you ain't seen nothing yet. Strap yourself in for one hell of a ride! :)

Tigerhawk won't make an appearance until the third-last episode of the third season.

Season 2 is MUCH better than S1 (IMO... and pretty much everyone else's O), and there's definitely more of an ark (lol pun) to the story, with few - if any - standalone episodes. S3... I honestly thought was the weakest of the three, but it has a strong premiere and an amazing ending that pretty much makes up for any silliness in-between.

Of course you'll have two seasons of BM after that, which you may either love or detest, but I strongly suggest watching them either way.

i was def a BW hater for life...well that is until i watched it

S2 and 3 are where the story really shines IMO

there were cool eps in the 1st season but way too much fluff the 2nd and third times around

BM is cool in a "what if" kinda way and it may help ween you off BW when its finally over so you dont go into withdrawl

I liked BW before I saw the show - but seeing the show definitely got me hooked! :) The initial toy fiction, which I went along with when I played with my toys, wasn't anywhere nearly as cool as the story created by Mainframe Entertainment. :)

IMO Season 3 is better than Season 1 but not as good as Season 2 - Season 2 is the best. Season 3 starts off really good (on par w/ Season 2) but it ends off rushed - but that's really Hasbro's fault. The writers did their best considering the circumstances under which they had to script the second half of Season 3.

All the episodes in Seasons 2 and 3 are serial episodes with the exception of "Transmutate" (Season 2) - that would be the only stand alone episode. But it is a bloody GOOD episode (it is the most deeply philosophical episode in all of Beast Wars).

I just delved into the first 7 episodes of season 2. Yep like you all said, much better than season 1. I'm very happy with this show! I just wish the bad guys were not written to be absolute morons. I hope that changes somewhere down the line, hopefully by beast machines.

Also I've heard alot about Beast Machine being more about deeper metaphysical/cosmic stuff....I'm really into that.

Can't wait to see Black arachna become a good girl maximal because of here atraction to Silverbolt. Is that in season two or is that another cool development that I have to wait for in season 3 like tigerhawk?

You'll have to wait for Season 3 - but she starts 'turning' in Season 2. ;)

I just wish the bad guys were not written to be absolute morons.

In what ways would you say that they're "absolute morons"?

Here's what I think of them...

Megatron: The most intelligent Megatron we've ever seen - he works by methods of divide and conquer where he sets everyone up against each other and reaps the benefits.

Waspinator: Okay, he's no Einstein, but he's also so adorable! I wouldn't say he's moronic though... just obscenely unlucky. :P

Tarantulas: Believe me when I say that Tarantulas, amongst all the Beast Wars Transformers, is truly More Than Meets The Eye. You ain't seen nothing yet when it comes to Tarantulas. And I'd wager that you won't figure out his true nature until toward the end of Season 3 - now there's an incentive for you to haul arse and finish watching the series! :)

Blackarachnia: as you can see, she's currently a character who will become morally conflicted.

Inferno: Yeah, if there were a moron amongst the Predacons, Inferno would be it. He's very simple - but he's not without merit. His mindless loyalty to Megatron as a grunt does make him an interesting character in his own right. Defend the colony!

Quickstrike: also quite simple, but certainly without the loyalty. He's just out to look after number one.

...Predacons who appear after Season 2 ep 7.... (only names)

Rampage

Tripredacus (Ram Horn, Cicadacon & Sea Clamp)

Ravage

...and in Season 3 (the name itself is kind of a spoiler)

Transmetal II Dinobot

So the transmetal version of Mega as a dragon is meaningless to the story? Megs never becomes that?

If you really want to know

he becomes a Transmetal 2 dragon in Season 3 - I was just sticking with Season 2 characters in my last post

;)
