Not that Hasbro hasn't made a zillion Minicons who all turn into gigantic vehicles.

Yeah, but they tell you off the bat what they are. They're "Minicons," mini robots. That's pretty much their point-to be small. And the only time they're sold absent a larger figure is in packs of three, minimum. Obviously Hasbro recognizes that this size class isn't one that can stand on it's own like it used to.

Besides, I really don't get what the big deal is. So what if he was small back in the 80's? Can you honestly tell me an A-10 being that small doesn't bug you on some level?

The fact is that the purpose of the Classics/Universe line is to update the figures of G1 characters using new technology and design aesthetics.

There's no reason to make Powerglide mini-con, or even deluxe sized, other then slavish devotion to the aesthetics of the G1 line.

Let me just try to get to the basic issue here. Whenever we're talking about G1 characters being to scale with each other, it's always robot mode scale. That's all anybody wants. Like how people complained about Classics Starscream, because his robot mode was so much smaller than Classics Prime/Megatron. Well, where do they get that scale from? From the cartoon, comic and toys, which had Starscream being almost as tall as Prime and Megs. Never mind the alt mode -- they could always mass shift, right? The baseline for G1 characters' sizes was always their robot mode. So that's where this is coming from.

Not that I really care about Powerglide at all; I'm just explaining and stuff.

They originally intended only two sizes for classics, deluxe and voyager, that´s why bumblebee wasn´t smaller, but it´s the robot mode that counts,if you keeps Starscreaming about "how you don't want robots who are in scale with each other" may want to consider scale-model collecting.

In transformers,it's the characters that count. and i just can't call mecha-godzilla powerglide.

I'll buy it,but i won't call it powerglide, and it won't feel like him to me,it will feel like another failure, and the only thing that would be able to make up for it imo,is if he gets electronics. which probably won't happen, cause hasbro doesn't do that anymore to things smaller than leader class.

Buying something you don't like just because it is a Transformer is epic :fail

:fail indeed.

I've only so far bought movie figs I think look cool while the rest are a big meh all around.

I like being richer for it to.

As for Classics I'll wait and see. Couldn't really care less about more A/E/C styled toys, I want animated.

Not just because of the show but because it's (like the movie figs) a whole different asthetic.

If the Classic 2.0s look cool I'll buy if not, like most everything else pass.

OMG! a transformers fan that actually collects them! let´s call him epic :fail!

I only do that with TF:Classics and masterpiece.

I don't give a flying Powerglide (gotta love the curse-filter) about the movie figs,i only bought movie figs that looked nice, though blackout is epic :fail.

Also,i never said i wouldn't like powerglide, the mold may be fantastic. i'm just saying he's too big to be the powerglide character,so i'd like him MORE if he would be deluxe,or maybe voyager. if the mold fails too though, I'd rather buy one of the oversized LOC Jetfire knockoffs and repaint it like classics legends powerglide. and add a new head. (armada thrust's head for all i care)

I'm really not trying to flame anyone here, just trying to get Hasbro designers' brains to function.

No, you want to tell Hasbro that they should make Classics/Universe exactly like the G1 line.

And yes, you are flaming people here. What else to you call it when you tell me I should stop collecting Transformers just because I disagreed with you about a figure neither of us have seen? Cut out the confrontational attitude bullBlot.

And no, you don't have to buy everything with a Transformers logo plastered on its packaging just because you're a collector. Personally, I skip figures I dislike the look of, and I'm pretty sure most others here would say the same.

Personally, I can't stand the Animated look, so I'm skipping the vast majority of that line. If that makes me less of a collector in your eyes.....well, I really don't care.

Im not the once who called you epic birdcrap.

I am not saying they should make it excactly alike to G1,but at least a slight homage or something would be nice.

Though my attitude has been a bit blown up today. i'm sorry everyone. i spent 6 hours in a broken car stuck in the middle of nowhere,my wallet got stolen, including banking cards, drivers license etc. so i've been in a rather aggressive mood. so again:sorry everyone.

Im not the once who called you epic birdcrap.

No, no one called me that. They called you that.

This is what I took offence to....

if you keeps Starscreaming about "how you don't want robots who are in scale with each other" may want to consider scale-model collecting.

So because I like it when Hasbro attempts to make some effort when it comes to TFers and scale (and thus disagree with you), I should quit collecting TFers? Get over yourself.

I agree. And I think they've done a wicked job so far. The Classics line was a brilliant update to the original G1 line. So far, from the looks of the two Universe figures we've seen, that trend of updated G1 awesomeness seems to be continuing. So I have no doubt Powerglide's figure will be a perfect update.

Essentially the entire Classics/Universe line is a giant homage line. Powerglide's size class in no way counteracts the "homage-ness" of the figure.
