How long do we have to wait?

May not have to wait long at all:

From Jizaitoys.com the guy who did the Cyclonus, Wheelie and Powerglide Kits. Obviously just a sketch but if anyone is gonna be able to do it.... it'll be him/them.

and it'll cost $200 too.

I'm a classics AND masterpiece supporter for these characters. They surely must be the most long awaited TFs toys in TF history. Cartoon accurate Ironhide and Ratchet. A Masterpiece mold, same size/scale as Alternators, and a Classics delux as well would be fantastic and I think the vast majority of fans would snap them up.

Ouch.... is that how much those things run? Do they at least come painted or are the pieces colored plastic?

I might actually be willing to pay that much for an Ironhide... How do you order from that guy?

I don't know why someone can't make one that's like 20th Anniversary Prime. That is an amazing figure... I'm sure it could be done with Ironhide as well.

Wow... the Wheelie and Cyclonus are amazing. Why can't Hasbro do things like that instead of the crap they used to make. I love the comparison between the old Wheelie and his.

These are pretty hilarious too...

I still haven't gotten over Hasbro dropping the ball on not putting out Ironhide and Ratchet repaints of Towline. Especially being a company who just LOVES to repaint just about everything. This was a rare time where it almost seemed like Towline was designed with those repaints in mind so I can't figure out why they never did them. I thought the mold was absolutely PERFECT too.

It's a nice combination in terms of paying homage to both the g1 toon look for the bot and also paid homage to the g1 figure with the "sled" or whatever you wanna call it. The best of both worlds, I don't know how anyone could have wanted better than that.

Then again, at that time I think Hasbro was still trying to hold to their "collectors don't matter that much to us" line of bull they were spewing. Archer saying that kids don't like vans much doesn't make any sense at all. If that was the case then why make that figure at all in the first place?!?! :tfhuh

I won't ever believe Hasbro's crappy excuses for not doing things that should have been no-brainers.

They said they wouldn't have done the rest of the seekers because that would have been too many repaints of one figure yet a year later here I sit with 4 different '08 BB's on my shelf and at least 2 more on the way. Funny they don't have that problem now.

So that just proves that Hasbro doesn't think twice about lying to cover their own asses.

I can see them as a small part of Universe/Classics, but I don't think either of those guys is popular enough to warrant a MP version.

One difference is that the '08 Camaro continues to fly off the shevles - Ramjet was a total pegwarmer (and Skywarp didn't sell much better).

If Rammjet or Skywarp were on the shelves any time between now and the movie release date, they'd have flown off the shelves.

I beg to differ. As far as I can tell, there were loads of Ramjets that hit pegs. I don't think it was that they didn't sell well at all, they were just restocked very quickly until the sales on the line started to slow a bit. The last waves of Classics is seen more as peg warmers because they were last ones hanging around so they're more stuck in peoples minds. Plenty of classics figures hung around for a long time, but that doesn't mean that any of them were seen as failures. It also came at a time where people were saving up for things like botcon and the movie line along with other goodies.

Just because certain figures don't disappear in a matter of weeks from shelves doesn't mean they were failures. Classics did everything Hasbro wanted it to do and that was keeping some fresh product out and stuff on pegs until the movie line was ready to go.

As for the Skywarp set, they sold like mad at first. I should know, I work at Target. We got A LOT of restocks on those. A lot more than they got on some the movie exclusives. Thing is, Target doesn't wait too long before they clearance that stuff out.

I don't honestly know what people expect. How many of us couldn't get past piles of CD Red Alerts in their stores only to see them now selling on ebay for well over the original retail price. Same thing for Evac and Leobreaker. These warmed shelves and pegs all over and now look at them.

Just judge slowly.

Look what happened when they put more classics out last summer when they were delayed on movie figures, they flew...even Ramjet. You can't tell me that right now people at Hasbro didn't wish they still had those seekers for Universe. Just goes to show that Hasbro should never say never when it comes to situations like this and assume they'll never put out certain figures and give away a good opportunity like they did with the seekers.

I don't understand why they didn't wait on letting botcon use Towline for Ironhide and Ratchet either. I believe they had the plans on the table for the classics line and they had to know people wanted these done. It was a perfect fit and best of all it would only have taken some minor retooling.

It's those little things that frustrate me as a collector. It would be nice if we could know how these decisions are ultimately made and if anyone tried to put in a voice for the collectors or anything like that, but sadly we'll likely never know.
