#1 - PREDAKING.

He has the best overall look (IMO)

Predaking of course.

I'd have to give my vote to Railracer, great gestalt made of three very good individual TF's. I've even grown to like Midnight Express' chunky legs.

Thumbs up for Predaking and Magmatron as well.

LioKaiser is absolutley the best designed gestalt ever produced. It's hard to believe that the godawfully fugly Road Caesar came from the same series.

However, my heart belongs to my first love, Devastator. Honorable mentions to both Predaking and Raiden( although I understand why Raiden never was brought to the american market, he's both complicated and fragile, too much so for kids ), and Monstructor just for his oddness and the trouble I went through to complete him.

Monstructor has got to be one of the crappiest gestalts ever made. Not the crappiest, but also the most over-priced in terms of how much he's selling now on eBay. And he's expensive not because he's a good toy, but because he was rare - because since he was part of the later G1 run, not as many people bought Monster Pretenders so there's less available on the secondary market. You're paying for the rarity, not for the actual "value" of the figure.

I'm glad I completed this set back in 1989! ;)

He's not the worst gestalt though. The Scramble City gestalts are heavily criticised because the limb robots are often underwhelming - especially the Aerialbots - the four limb jets are all based on the same basic design and offer little variety between them (there's less variety in design between Slingshot, Fireflight, Air Raid and Skydive compared to any other Scramble Gestalt limb set) - the Stunticons are probably the 2nd worst in that regard (mostly because there's little variety between Breakdown and Dead End, but at least Wildrider and Drag Strip are distinctly different in design). But overall all Scramble City gestalts (and those that came after with the same conceptual design, e.g. Technobots, Terrorcons, Seacons etc) copped a lot of flak from fans for having really strange robot modes with tiny block-peg heads (because often that's actually what their heads were!). But having said all that, the real coolness factor with these gestalts is in their Scramble Power gimmick - the fact that you can interchange the limbs. I've really always loved that aspect about them.

The worst would probably be the Micromaster gestalts who, let's face it, largely cheat by relying on craploads of gestalt kibble (especially for the waist and thighs).

And that's why so many people consider Lio Kaiser to be the best gestalt by G1 standards, because he's cheats the least in terms of forming his gestalt mode. Of all the G1 gestalts, Lio Kaiser has the least amount of non self-contained gestalt parts - in fact, he only has one - the head. Everything else - the fists, feet, thighs and all connective components are built into the individual Breastmasters. As long as you don't lose the head (and obviously break any of the toys) you will always be able to form a complete Lio Kaiser robot.

Octavian Prime: I prefer JRX over Rail Racer. I've never liked how Hasbro stick those huge faction insignias all over the RiD robot modes, ironically neutering their effectiveness as robots in disguise despite the line name (and they just looked bad on them IMO). And for those train bots I don't like how Hasbro got rid of the clear windows and just put solid painted plastic. Bleechh..

Computron is my favorite combiner mainly because he is the first one that I ever completed.

Predaking is neat too but the problem is that his chest (Razorclaw) is too small compared to the limbs.

Most gestalts need add on pieces and I really do not mind those- especially for the Micromasters given their small size. It is pretty hard to work that stuff into a figure to begin with even now, let alone back then during G1. For the same reason I do not mind the blocky heads.

I think that an added problem for Monstructor is that both Bristleback and Slog were made from that crappy gold plastic. So in addtion of being a late release and thusly not selling all that well- a lot of Monstructors would be incomplete because some poor kid broke Slog/Bristleback and threw them away.

But Monstructor goes for insame amounts on eBay. Pirahnacon is pretty rare too but at least he is pretty neat.

MMPR season 3 ninja megazord.

frogpants FTW.

but it really has to G1 pihranacon. only combiner I ever had all the pieces to( and still have. no, it's not for sale). I just loved that the extra guy was a targetmaster for the gestalt.

Predaking no question :ohyeah

Also, Devistator and Piranacon rule
