Possible Dinobot/Dinobots/Dynobots/Dynobot in TF2

Recommended Posts

for all the talk I hear about the possibility of Dinobots in TF2 people are talking about how it should be just Grimlock, or ONLY 3 Dinobots including Grimlock and what their Alt. forms would be.....and less IMO about personality with Grimlock playing the part of Grimlock.

Point being is that who says whoever appears in TF2 as a Dino/Dynobot had to be based on the G1 guys??

they were sweet in the fact they were more entertaining and badass than any Autobot Combiner

they kicked Unicron's ass, literally....

but they're personalities for those who forgot or don't remember well

Grimlock: Arrogant Leader

Slag: Wants to Slag Decepticons, and possibly Bots'

Sludge: Dumb as slag

Snarl: Quiet, enjoys only combat

Swoop: Friendliest....nothing else

But........What about the Dinobot in TF2 based on old Lizard Lips himself

Quite frankly his character IMO was the most interestingly developed bot

and he is more like Grimlock, Slag, and Snarl than the other 2, but still.....well if you've seen BW from the beginning to the end then you know the deal with Dinobot, his own internal struggles with destiny, his betrayals, his honor, and obv. his hilarious conversations with Rattrap (The Low Road, specifically)

Screw making him a bigass tank or military vehicle, thats the Decepticons trademark alt. modes

Make Dinobot a bigger than average Velociraptor like he was in BW, about the same height as Jazz, of course raptors weren't 15 ft. tall but hey, he would be a Dinobot whose name was Dinobot.

and the question of being able to "disguise" him from the humans..................

Give Prime his trailer

Dinobot is a tough warrior who handles extreme situations with no fear

he is called upon like Omega Supreme was in G1, cept not as big

Dinobot is also the most skilled autobot in hand-hand combat, or sword-sword

anyone's opinions would greatly please my BW fetish :tfevil

Anything's possible. But don't go getting your hopes up.

Well, they said the Dinobots. Not the singular character.

Secondly, having a dinosaur is kind of awkward considering the context of the movie is realism. However, having him be a militaristic vehicle with a robot mode that has dinosaur-esque features would work.

They'd have to be very careful how they handle that.. if they choose to do so at all..

I personally wouldn't touch it in with 10 foot pole. Animal forms of any kind in the movie, for the most part, are impractical when squaring off against tanks and jets.

If I was an alien robot that could choose any kind of disguise on earth *though techincally I'm thinking mechanical here.. unless I was a fleshy morphing Beast Machines style alien robot... but entry through the atmosphere might be a problem* the last thing I'd personally think of would be some animal that died millions of years ago.. and I'm being totally honest here. Dinosaurs worked in Beast Wars because they were like IN prehistory.. and were fighting like bugs and other animals and stuff. Plus it was a show for the younger crowd and they didn't have to impress a wider more discriminating audience. In theory, I don't think a raptor, or any dinsoaur for that matter, would have an advantage over a tank or a jet realistically. Giant mechanical dinosaurs aren't really helping the case either.

I personally think for what it's worth, the dinobots are best left either out of the movie outright or converted into autobot heavy duty military vehicles. But thats just my opinion, of course.

When an experiment was performed with pistons of equal strength to T-Rex and a skull of similar strength to bone..

So I hardly think flimsy metal planes are much trouble.

that's pretty damn cool, that last pic :)

Please. Just no.

Seriously, am I the only one not impressed by the Dinobots and their retarded antics?

Here's a crazy idea, but how about making the Dinobots' personalities - oh I don't know - match their G1 personas!! GASP!!

Grimlock: Dinobot leader who is idolised by his fellow Dinobots who love him as their brother, their captain, their king. Reciprocally he also loves and cares for the Dinobots under his command and would be enraged by anyone who wronged one of his Dinobots to the point where he would exact vengeance against them - a sentiment shared by all the Dinobots if anyone ever wronged one of their allies (e.g.: when the Dinobots attacked Galvatron after he killed Professor Morris). Detests weaker life forms but comes to realise that there are more to humans than meets the eye and that there are other forms of strength aside from brawn. His erroneous speech pattern and arrogant stubbornness beguiles a sharp mind and tactical wit that even rivals Prowl.

Slag: a Berserker in every sense of the word - when he goes into his enraged state, even his fellow Dinobots are in danger.

Sludge: not the greatest thinker but generally very good natured.

Snarl: brooding loner who revels in combat.

Swoop: A former member of the very exclusive Autobot Elite Flying Corps and the Dinobots' flying ace. Quite good natured but bears a personal vendetta against one of the Decepticon flyers - in G1 it was against Divebomb, but in the movie it could be against Starscream.

My suggestions for alt modes...

Please. Just no.

Well if they mirrored their comic book personalities they could work, but that goes back to an older argument.

The general audience isn't familiar with the comic adaptation of the G1. If the GA remembers the Dinobots it's as

cavemen-like comic relief characters, which I agree, wouldn't fit with the live-action Movie-verse.

That's the beauty of making him a tank though.

You have Autobots who transform into civilian automobiles and the Decepticons who transform into military vehicles (for the most part).

When you look at it the Autobots are at a severe disadvantage. So bringing in the Dinobots as Autobots with military vehicle forms

makes them sort of like the Autobot's last line of defence, their ace in the hole against a stronger enemy. Sort of like when the chips

are down you fight fire with fire.

So IF the Dinobots make an appearance in any of the live action movies I would give them military alt modes and incorporate dinosaur features

into their robot mode.

Please. Just no.

I agree with you there actually.

Comic Dinobots were rather cool.

But why must we insist on the Dinosaur inspired modes?

Drop the dinobot sub-faction name, And just call them by their character names.

Actually, drop the dinosaur inspiration altogether, and have them as a group of die-hard Autobots who embraced the Decepticons militaristic ways but didn't fall from grace.

Heck, have them have the "Only the strong deserve to rule" mentality, but also a "The strong must protect the weak" one as well.
