I don't either, because the strength of the movie IMO isn't the emotional connection the audience has to the robots. 99% of that comes from people who already knew about Transformers, and are simply carrying over their existing feelings about the characters into Bay's film. But anytime you bring a character back from the dead, after telling the audience that he's really gone (i.e. ending the movie with him still dead, and no mention of him possibly returning), it reduces the audience's emotional trust in the story. I know it happens all the time in comic books, but that's hardly a model that anyone should be embracing IMO.

I thought Prime should have ripped him in half for saying "What's crackin' Lil' Protectobots" and ruining the movie.

I'd be cool with Prime trying to use the Allshard on Jazz and bringing him back to life BUT SOMETHING GOES WRONG and he ends up as a Brit-talking Stunticon and tells Optimus to get bent.

Maybe Jazz will come back to life and become offended by the depiction of middle eastern steryotypes and then never talk again?

Jazz was an interesting character to me and I wanted to know more about him and then he was turn apart and chucked to the side. I never really felt like they should have even ever said he was dead in the first place. It should have been, "He's in a permanent stasis lock. I cant seem to pull him through."

 

Well I'm happy to hear this news and I hope his character is fleshed out in part 2. Him and everyone else including the bad guys.

But this would seriously undercut whatever emotional resonance Jazz' death had... not that there was a whole lot as it played, anyway.

That's just it, there was so little emotional resonance concerning Jazz's death that bringing him back wouldn't undercut a damn thing. No one would probably give a damn either way so they might as well just bring him back. Now when a character dies a death that has actual emotional resonance, then you leave them dead.
