the detail on the truck is pretty good, but not perfect, they put more effort into the robot mode which I think is fine, but with what they had to work with, I say the truck form is pretty good. I really can't pick anything bad about him, he is very near perfection without being life size :D

he is a good figure but i would change and add a few things:

 

1. his hands, mine has a little problem holding the ion blaster it's not snug enough.

 

2. again his hands are hard to transform, i have too use a butter knife or somthing similar to get them inside the arm.

 

3. the foot thing, 'nuff said.

 

4. he should have light up eyes.

 

5. he should say key phrases.

 

6. they should have made a trailer and roller, everything the G1 trailer had. i would have spent the extra money for it.

 

and what is the reason for the movable vents i never understood why they are like, is it significant somehow

I'm new here, so go easy on me. I definitely want a 20th Anniversary, but I just found out about them tonight. So, I'm trying to get a basic rundown of all the versions that are out there. If I mess something up, please correct me. Or if I'm overlooking something, fill me in.

 

Two brands (Hasbro/Takara), two different length smoke stacks, two different color guns and two different conditions (one looks like he's been in battle). What else am I missing?

 

I'm cool with getting a Hasbro brand with the roughed up look. I think it makes him look more realistic and not so perfect. I also like the longer stacks (if I can get 'em). Is this combo the one that Toys R Us is selling? I'm just afraid that if I buy something online the picture will not exactly match the one I receive.

 

This link shows two different models. Is one of these the Takara? Or are both of these available from Hasbro. The longer stacks are much better!

Short stacks + Battle damage = Hasbro 20th Anniversary Prime.

 

You can find either gun color on the Hasbro version.

They've been that short since the first pic I ever saw of the Hasbro version, months ago.

 

They're neutered because of US child safety regulations. (because the long stacks have the -potential- to poke out a child's eye. :roll)
