You can't fully trust IMDB. So far Spike is being called Sam.

That doesn't exclude the possibility of "Spike" being a nickname given to the character Sam.

 

But as far as most official sources, the main character played by Shia LeBeouf is named Sam

True, Spike being a nickname has been speculative for a while now.

Hey now, give the guy a break! He's got KRS (Keanu Reeves Syndrome). So the majority of the movie roles he's been in have sucked. But all it takes is one breakout hit to make him a household name :thumb

 

Keanu --> The Matrix = Shia --> The Transformers

i-Robot. I like that and Constantine.

I havent said anything on this so i'll just get it all out here. Its interesting to see how theyre embracing the whole alien aspect in the robot designs of but the five year old kid inside me isnt happy.

 

Im still open to the fact that the movie may be good and that the designs are allright in some ways, but ive never been a fan of Bay and just feel he doesnt have enough respect for the original material (bar some token gestures); the quality of G1 is the whole reason the fanbase and the legacy exists, i feel bay just uses the general concept to do whatever he feels, bumblebee's alt. form, for instance, is clearly not in keeping with the character's spirit which made him so popular and this arguably seems to betray one of Bay's desires to make elements of the film into his own version of the fast and the furious. Similar could be argued about the overly alien/bug decepticon designs being Bay's vision of 'transformers-War of the Worlds'

It would be fine if the designs were for a new cartoon series but im not sure about them straying so far from the original material for the first live action piece.

 

I wont see this movie as a transformers fan but instead il go into the cinema as a sort of layman and maybe then i'll enjoy Bay's new action flick.

Why is the tf movie guy bending over to these g1 people? This is regarding he voicing.

I grew up from the 80's myself, but I have to say that the old is cheesy, and in the case of megatron, utter rubbish. Peater was good as optimus yes, so that would be passable in the new movie. But not the original megatron. He has a crappy old-man-ish typical 80's badguy rubbishness.

 

The newer megatron fron beast wars onwords IS megatron. He has been the best so far. Also garry chalk has a more powerfull voice, and comes accross more better than peater...

 

I just hope they use the new megatron in the movie.... it will be doomed if they use the old one :/

 

I had to voice my opinion over this, as I'm sick of seeing all of the peater cullen hype all over the place. Yes he was good in the original, but thats were that ends.
