Is'nt the teaser trailer supposed to play with the new pirates of the carribian movie?

Yes.

And the crowd applauded when they saw that a Transformers movie was being made. After finding out about the movie from the trailer, my friend said, "Holy crap! Now I'm freaking excited about this!"

may have been posted before, but here's a photo of bumblebee I found on another board.

At a family reunion today I hung out with a cousin who works at ILM and is directly involved with the CGI rendering in the movie. Maybe this is already old news but some tidbits of info shared with me which I'll keep ambiguous are:

1) As already previewed by the image of the half-transformed Bumblebee, the robot designs are dramatically different and will no doubt disappoint purists/fans of the "traditional" Transformers look.

2) One of the main Transformers characters has no lines in the entire movie.

3) One of the main characters never transforms into an alt mode--and may not even have an alt mode to begin with. IMO, this of course pisses in the face of what Transformers are all about.

Regarding the specifics I heard, it's difficult for me to believe because if they are true I don't see how this movie will NOT suck in the eyes of a lot of G1 purists.

I just found out Mark Ryan was hired as a on-stage stand-in for the Transformers, giving the actors something to play off. To me, that's a good thing. A lot of problems with blue-screen acting is that the actors don't have anything to work with. That's why SW:AotC had such bad acting.

With seeing the CGI on Davey Jones in PotC: Dead Man's Chest, and seeing the real-life models used to give the Transformers file, I am no longer worried about the Special Effects.

Now, I just hope the story is a bit decent. :redface

Hi tyler, I thought I considered myself a purist about TFs, but I felt some satisfied with this new Bumblebee, of course I would felt better if it where the original car of G1, but considering that the entire movie will be different to that, I think it's a good adaptation..., at least keeps the original yellow and isn't an old car...

A characther that I think some people will agree in their originality is Prime, as the most seen one as a truck, I think is the robot that must be equal to it's G1 mode...

In the case of Megatron, I think is the better change they could do, I never liked the gun mode it has, I never liked the idea that the TFs could get miniaturized (or the opposite), and the lider of Deceps being a tank is a good option in my opinion...

3) One of the main characters never transforms into an alt mode--and may not even have an alt mode to begin with. IMO, this of course pisses in the face of what Transformers are all about.

I consider that a good point, my point of view about the TFs is that in an origin they were normal robots, and the hability of transform is a result of the war, isn't it? For that I don't think that all of them should transform, in a context of a world inhabited by robots it isn't a negative point, the idea is that some of them, or a part of an army should be transformers...

I bet it sucks to be a purist.

Just read that FF2 got bumped up to June 14 to avoid competing with "Transformers." That makes it official--everyone is taking this serious. :clap
