What do people think of the Star Wars transformers?

I do think the new Vader/Death Star is way overpriced at 50, and good luck finding one at that price for very long.

Meaning that you expect it to go on clearance? As for the normal figures, I totally agree that $14.99 seems too much. $9.99 would be more like it.

I think they are the most hideous and unnescesary things ever made.

Hell no, meaning that I expect scalpers will be snatch them up by the case and start charging 50% more for them on ebay, etc.

I just like the SW TFs because they combine 2 forms of geekiness in one toy, and display nicely in either SW alt mode or TF robot mode. :word

Am I the only one who likes these things?

Actually I have kinda limited myself to the Original Trilogy Vehicles (with the exception of Vader Jedi Fighter)

The Falcon is AWESOME! And the Jedi Fighters are decent.

A lot of the complaints people have with them are accurate though - they are too fragile and awkward.

I don't have any problem with the charcter heads, but I do agree that they are limiting themselves unnecessarily.

I think the reason that the current waves are shelf warming is that it is 100% repaints.

Even though the Mquarie-Headed Vader is all sorts of awesome -this is the 3rd or 4th version of the Jedi Starfighter mold.

That being said -I think the designs are improving. And Luke/Xwing is kinda charming in his Fugliness.

But I do warn you away from both the Grevious Bike - and the Slave 1 figures. They suck.

Actually I liked Grievous a lot; he was one of the better-looking SWTFs IMO. And then I let the kids play with him and he came apart into a million pieces which were never seen again (except for his back donut).

Is that what he sat on to ease the pain of his robo-hemorrhoids?I think one of the reasons Grievous worked was that it was easier to make a transforming robot of a guy who already was a robot.

simply don't care for OR about them. :bored

Thanks to our fellow TFans, I study the pics BEFORE I buy any TF.

I picked up Palpatine/ Shuttle. Decent robot mode. Detachable wings. Horrible head and paintjob, though...

Plastic is very flimsy and the designs are not as articulated as they should be.

I've since packed him away...

Now I would like to see more pics of the Clone Trooper/ Tank coming out soon...

Hmmm...

Aint nothing like the REAL thing! Ha!

I love them! I only have the Falcon, Vader Tie Fighter, and Luke X-Wing.

These are the only ones I've ever remotely considered. I suppose if i saw the Falcon again for $15 I'd consider it :D

I just have so many other things I'm interested in first.

The rest of the bot modes (ie. Fett, and Obi-Wan) look just plain goofy. I'd have to agree that too much was sacrificed for accurate alt modes. Even with accurate alt modes, someone could have put a little more love into the bot modes.

I think the faces on the Falcon bots bothered me the most. Especially Han's.

That and I'm really not a big SW guy to start with. So..... meh?

*****

Whoops, almost forgot Grievous. Doy. But I kinda figured that was a gimme. I'd like to cite previous point made about him already being a robot.
